If you have brake pads past half life, we recommend that you keep the funnel on the brake lever at the end of the bleed process, clean the caliper, return the brake pads and wheel, and then press the lever a few times until they are firm. Then, remove the funnel from the bleed port.

Awesome video! Short and to the point. Many who post "how to" videos act as if they're amateur film producers and overexplain everything!

Thanks for the GREAT Bleed Zone Kit! Just bled my Ultegra brakes with your kit and this video. Saved me from waiting on the LBS which is two weeks out on any work. It took 15 minutes to do front and rear, with pad replacements, and I’m ready to go! THANK YOU!!

I just mounted a new 105 on my gravel bike. Both levers feels spongy, long stroke, after following the Shimano assembly instructions. I will give this a try. Great video with super sharp pictures. Thanks!

@@bleedzonekits I followed your instructions, no bubbles come out anymore but both levers are very soft. They improved but still the free stroke is very long. I wonder what to do. I think I tried everything.

@@fabiopunk1661 We’re sorry to hear that! Did you use the bleed block? Our suggestion is before removing the funnel to put the brake pad, all the caliper parts, and the wheel back, and then pump the lever until it’s firm. When the brake pads are worn out, you might need extra fluid and often bubbles could be trapped at the lever. Let us know if that works for you.
@fabiopunk16613 жыл бұрын
@@bleedzonekits the system is brand new. yes I used the bleed block. I will do what you say: removing the funnel last. Indeed I removed it before mounting the parts on the caliper. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for the succinct instructions. It helps so much to keep it simple. Not so sure about using the box end, but hey, ya gotta live life to the fullest (full disclosure: I'm an open ender). I will be looking for re-supplies soon.

Anywhere I can purchase the funnel adapter by itself? My kit didn’t come with one.

At the moment, we don't list the funnel adapter separately, but if you contact us directly at support@bleedzone.com, we will be able to sell you one!

The bleed block that was provided with this kit did not fit on my shimano 105 caliper
@bleedzonekits8 ай бұрын
Our bleed block is designed to fit all mountain bike brake calipers, but we are so sorry to hear that it didn't work for you! Was the bleed block too small or too large? If you can message us directly at support@bleedzone.com, we can try to troubleshoot for you.

Does this process work with newer shimano components? ie. ultegra 8000, dura-ace 9100

Yes, this process works with newer Shimano road/gravel hydraulic brakes including Ultegra 8000 and Dura-Ace 9100.

I did not have a 7mm wrench so I went to Home Depot to buy one. But it turns out it is not needed for Shimano 12speed brakes They use a 3mm Allen wrench for the bleed port. Maybe you should update the video to prevent others from buying unneeded tools.

I just reviewed the shimano bleed instructions. It seems that yours is missing half of the steps

It’s a good idea to review the brake manufacturer’s instructions on bleeding your specific brake model if you have additional questions. However, we have found this bleeding method to work the best.

As someone who has bled a lot of hydraulic brakes, I must say this is an overly simplistic video and skips out on a few very important steps. Only under perfect conditions will just doing this procedure give you good results
@bleedzonekits2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment! We really appreciate the feedback. What other steps would you include?
@SeantheRD2 жыл бұрын
@@bleedzonekits the levers should be rotated to have the port at the highest point in the system. You can also rotate the bars at multiple angles to get additional air out of the system. The most important one is when you are almost done, hold the lever and quickly open and close the port at the caliper to push any trapped air out of the lower end of the system.
@bleedzonekits2 жыл бұрын
@@SeantheRD While we haven’t had issues so far in bleeding brakes with our process, those sound like useful tips to remove any trapped air out of the system from both the highest points and lowest points of the hydraulic system. Thanks for sharing!!
