great video Gabriel, can you do a video about the spray booth your using and how it works. it seems pretty awesome. And also can you give some info about the amount of cars you spray per day. Thanks any info would be helpful. I want to see if my boss will consider upgrading his spray booth.
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS7 жыл бұрын
+drivsport I have 2 spray booths and a bake room where I can fit 2 cars side by side. Cars go on a rail system that allows me to push them into bake when I'm done with them. They are called " WOLF TAIFUNO VISION" EVERYDAY IS DIFFERENT but I paint anywhere from 4 to 15 jobs a day. No bumper jobs just big jobs with bumpers hope that helps my friend 😀😀

Hi Gabriel another great video! I got told in trade school that you should flick the pearl coat (in) towards the ground coat. You and other painters I've seen treat them like a standard blend on a metallic allowing it to flick out. I was told doing It like that can really alter the colour because its new pearl on old pearl deepening the colour? I've only painted 2 myself, as we don't have many coming in, so its hard for me work out and know the best way.
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS7 жыл бұрын
+Tom Mellor yes of course it can! It's better to contain it, this red base goes everywhere because of the core metallic so to make sure I got coverage I went a bit further

Hey Gabe! I had to blend like 3 p. whites this week, basically everything you said in this video I did and they came out great. Thanks for the videos man, anytime I start to feel unmotivated I turn your videos on. Thanks for replying to my comments. Blending pearls can be quite difficult for some people, I find laying it down extra wet and thinning out my base and pearl for the last coat/blend helps allot. Also do you think the statgun is worth? I really want one but 2k is a bit much.

great video. I started painting about a year ago... so still a lot to learn. So when you do your integrated coat do you go just beyond your base, and then just beyond your integrated coat with your pearl? Or do you stop at the edge of all three coats? I'm just concerned about getting a halo effect if i go beyond my edges. Thanks.
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS7 жыл бұрын

Q'VO homie. Once again another great video. But going to the transition coat I think I finally got what you meant. So you put 50% already reduced base & 50% already reduced pearl and mix it together for the transition right? Or you reduce it a lil more once mixed & how much % reduced. Thanks for your time & your input bro.

How do you think a white pearl look over a grayish base? I saw a video from dipyourcar where they primed the car with avalanche gray then a cobra pearl which is a white pearl. The car looked white but it had a ghost color shifting effect. Could that be applied to conventional paint methods? Is is because of the kind of pearl they used?

Hey mate, nice work....Just a question, what do you mean by not having to do a control coat with your pearl?
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS5 жыл бұрын
Sometimes if it looks good with the spray out card you don't need to do a control coat. Effect coat, drop coat whatever you want to call it
@Drewster107 жыл бұрын
Gabriel. With the boot lid being clear on clear and you containing your pearl with the areas you freshly based then fresh clear.... won't the boot pearls be harder to see due to no new pearl and clear over clear where below it's fresh with one clear (not coats)
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS7 жыл бұрын
+Drew Vale Heu brother that's the beauty of blending if there would be a different which there wasn't becUse I apply the same amount of base and pearl to match the color as good as possible if course. Then everything looked uniform. But I do see what you mean.

at 2:35 you said it doesnt make sense to blend the trunk panel why? is it because its a separate panel, but the you did it on the side panels.
@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS7 жыл бұрын
+david toledo it just not necessarily sometimes but sometimes when you get paid for it you need to do it 😀 the side panels are more important because the bumper lines up straight to it!
@barberian25257 жыл бұрын
im confuse, you did blend it cuz you sprayed base coat throughout the trunk panel. but youre saying you dont have to. and whats the volume of your spray to air ratio? you said on other video you use 35 psi

no explanation of what to mix and how much and what is this step versus the next one would be helpful to explain your plan first slowly then go into the action of spraying and explaining fast. think of new guys. Most videos are really meant for new guys rather than pros, pros know what to do, they don't need that much of guidance, New guys are the ones watching, trying to find the answer for their problems.
