Sooo satisfying watching her peel off the stamp!! Though with videos like this, my mind instantly goes to thinking what else I could use from around the house, like scrap wood or potatoes, and acrylic paint, but they wouldn't have that satisfying bend when taking off the stamp, and the paint wouldn't be as crisp and perfect as the ink. I love how the shirt turned out, nice and neat!! Still, I'm inspired to try it with potatoes and paint, like in kindergarten! 👍😊💕🤣

If you find those huge erasers, they make a nice smaller prints. I had one that said something like for big mistakes, you know, the novelty ones. But for a larger ones, you kinda have to buy the rubber sheets or lino block, Id say both are somewhat cheap. Ive used wood, but it will never be perfect, since it is natural product and not very homogenous, but it can totally be done. The carving part is much more tenuous, tho. Have fun :)

@Jane Miettinen i definitely know the erasers you're describing, they would work great!! Bendy!!👍😂

@@megan2176 Carve real carefully (not too deep) and you can use both sides of it. I figured it out at 4am once, when I needed small bird stamp, but didnt have anything to carve it on. Now all my blocks are double sided. Necessity is great motivator :)

I checked out your site, and just love the collages/groupings of everyday items, mostly kitchen things. There's something so comforting about that, especially the vintage feel of some of the items. It's like Grandma's kitchen, with a modern twist. The word that comes to mind is, Yum. Just yummy scrummy comfy goodness. 🥰☺️👌💕🥰☺️

Thank you, Allison! You are so talented. I love your work so much. It's inviting and cheerful even though the structures of what you make are deliberate and so well done.

It wasn't till Allison place the ink/paint on, that I understood what she meant by negative space. I would do this on cushion covers because quite often, I like the pattern on a cushion but it's very expensive...now I know. Thank you Allison for showing us how it's done🙏

Your experience shows! Your finished ART piece is perfect. Sharp and clean in addition to Your very creative design. As a child I was always making something, using different materials. My Mom was ALWAYS creative. The first time printing was Carving a raw potato and making a potato print . It was a first and it was exciting. Thank you for sharing and taking the time to explain each step.

The practice of printing blocks like that is similar to making stamped batik motifs. And we use copper as the printing block with more complicated motifs.

At 3:04 what brand of tool are you using? Also what kind of ink do you use for on fabric and is the t-shirt washable? Do you buy your rubber in bulk?
