Those were some of the best car reactions I’ve ever seen. Second gear was smiles, third gear was worry, and fourth gear was sheer terror. Especially the first two guys. Bro I was laughing so hard at that as well because I feel that I've only ever had a 315 horses feeling in my 04 caddy and that was after I spent months and finally diagnosed the couple of cracked coil packs and replaced them then I felt that pull for a full week before it done the same thing and checked the coil pack sleeves again and they were all fine but done the same misfires that it originally was doing

This is why the Supra will always be my favorite car. I love the sound, it’s just high pitched and raspy enough to sound good. It sounds like a vq on steroids. Then you got anti lag and a massive single turbo, honestly I even love the laggy turbos because they take a second to spool but once they spool it’s like a rocket taking off.

Im so so happy you bought this car , i know you wont see this but thats ok. I hate to say this but it needs to be said , im so happy you love the car its a jdm legend, but , even though its fully built its not invincible. Its a car with character. Japanese cars are a learning curve they NEED to be driven a certian way. Its not like s v8 where you can drive it as hard as possible. Not that you were driving it hard but i think the amount of time on the 2 step killed it. These motors are stron as can be but 2step is not good for them as they were never really ment to have it. If i were to give you one piece of advice , have the motor rebuilt billet block and head if you want to 2step like that or limit the 2step to keep it reliable . There are weak points to these motors that alot of people just dont know about because of media they see. If you rebuild it do the research about the motor it will take time to learn about but in the end its worth it. I think imo for how you drive the limiter is too hard and too much 2step. . Id reccomend a billet block and head with rods pistons springs retainers , upgrade cooling system. Bigger rad oil cooler possibly meth to keep the temps down more too. And a better tune thats not as agressive but that still puts out the power that you are wanting

Yeah hopefully instead of selling the blown up engine he repurposes it with all forged internals. Plus the cooling system needs to be seriously overhauled and done overkill to destroy any sort of risk of detonation. If the radiator was swelling up that much, off of just some pulls something is definitely wrong. Maybe a fully custom bigger radiator is needed along with some small oil radiators in the bumper where airflow is and a dry sump system to keep oil moving and cool and the engine temps down. The stock internals of clearly capable of a lot of power upwards of 600, the fault lies in cooling like cleetus said and as others said too much pressure building up. You can’t keep spamming rolling anti lag like that a million times.

I've rebuilt 2jz-ge, swap the gte head with a ge head. Also most likely just a head gasket, I didn't hear any knocks or other strange sounds so that's good. Hope to see another video on this car! 👍

anti-lag usually hurts the engine, it's not recommended to use it too much! It was a crazy fun video

We use anti-lag it in rallying for the obvious reasons, but we'd take two spare turbos to an event and usually have a couple away being rebuilt at the same time. They become consumables with an anti-lag system. FWIW on a rally car, you traditionally turn it on when you're on the countdown for the stage (5 seconds or so to go) and shut it off when you go over the line. So it's only doing it's thing where it's supposed to. Triggering it for recreational purposes is probably quite destructive...

@@anthonyrobertson9502 it's not good for the engine or the turbo. Especially making big boost at lower rpm than it normally would. Cylinder pressure spikes. Most likely what happened to this. It blew a head gasket to the moon. Put boost and combustion pressure into the water jacket. That's why the radiator is expanded.

This is not anti-lag, this is rolling 2-step. It hurts the turbos more than anything. I’m guessing that we are looking at cracked piston crowns because of lifted ring lands. A stock 2JZ was never reliable past 600ish hp. If it was, the car was driven with a soft foot.
