I've seen some people saves the mixture of liquid from previous boil into container and freeze it. When it comes time to cool everything down, instead of using ice, they use that frozen mixture from the previous boil. That prevents just regular ice from diluting your mixture of seasonings.

I have a Boil Boss, and it is EVERYTHING. I absolutely love it. It does everything they say it does. I am currently doing a boil right now, and I wouldn't dream of doing one without the Boil Boss

I like the idea of adding other citrus fruits like oranges to the boil. Dog got lucky with the scattered on the ground sausage. Next time try putting all the cut up sausage in an easy to maneuver bowl or pail.
