I just rescued a bunny on Monday. She's about a year old and was spade a month before I got her. When I brought her home she instantly took a liking to my yorkie (I knew the yorkie liked bunnies prior to getting one). I'm extremely happy that my dog can go into her pen and just hang out and the bunny doesn't mind her being in there. Today she even binkied around my dog and my dog was like freaking out trying to figure out what was going on lol. Just thought I'd share this :)

Although she mentions it in the video it is VERY IMPORTANT to always have a towel, or clipboard at all stages of the bonding process. never go into a bonding session without something to physically seperate the bunnies unless you like having bloody arms. My bunnies love me but when they attack another rabbit the go into a blind rage and will bite you

In the video I explain that humping is very common in bonding. It is in no way a sexual thing, it is a dominance thing. Mocha is telling Ebony he is dominate. Completely normal and common in bonding

+Hamsters Minecraft And More I don't believe females can, only because (I believe) male rabbits do the mating, not the other way around. Don't quote me on that, because I'm not sure. :) Besides, male, not only in rabbits but other animals, prove to other males they're the 'top dog', if you know what I mean.

I was wondering cuz I haven't seen this address yet. But if you're bringing a new bunny in the house, should you bond with that bunny first and then the two bunnies? The bunny we brought home is very freaked out and I'm not sure if that's going to make it harder or not? So I was trying to figure out if we should get her used to us and then introduce her to the bun that we already have or just do a trial by fire?

I'm planning on getting a new bunny to bond with my single male, his brother passed away a few months ago after being separated because of fighting (the one who passed away suddenly started attacking Peter and not allowing him to eat to a dangerous level, so I had to separate for Peter's safety and health). Now that he has been alone for a few months and is back to full health and a healthy weight I think it would be better to give him some new company before I'm in college and I'm home less often than now. this video has been a huge help to me as it is my first time trying to bond two rabbits together

I have two male rabbits and they were perfectly bonded till I got them neutered. Then, after we had them separated for 1 week because that's what the vet said to do and now they attack each other. It's been like this for months now and I've tried to bond them myself with no progress. I have there pens to next to each other and they sometimes groom each other, but anytime there together, they fight. I've been thinking to go get them bonded by a professional but I'm not sure. Does anyone have tips on what to do?

I got a second bunny a few days ago but by bunny i have longer keeps starting fights and they chase like a fidget spinner and bote and pull fur. I have to literally pull one of them away and can't just simply put my hand inbetween. They are in a seperate pen and smell eachother but it's not going well my new bun is very cslm and relaxed though but I don't know what to do. I need to put the other one back in the other pen. They just keep attacking and I can't end it in a good situation..

I have two rabbits, and they were not from the same litter, but lived with each other when we adopted them both. Male and female, so we had to separate them once they could mate, and until they got spayed and neutered, then when they healed, we put them together again. We don’t have a cage, just a pen, and when they want out, we lift the pen up so they can go out, but sometimes I carry them out for a little pet pat, and they run around to exercise. They bonded fairly easily, so I think it just has to do with personality of rabbit. Sometimes they go together quickly, sometimes not. :>

How can I rebond my rabbits? We have a home in CA and in AZ. They were born in May 2015 and were bonded when I got them, they are brothers. They were both fixed in August of last year in CA, there was some natural fighting during that process but when we took them to AZ they were bonded. We came back to CA for a couple of months and they picked territories and fought so badly that I had to take them to be checked out by a vet. How do I rebond my rabbits?

I've tried stress bonding and have had them both in a bathtub for a few sessions. The older one gets relaxed sometimes but the younger one always holds still in the corner. She always seem scared of the oldest. I've only been at it for a week but they don't seem to be getting any closer. What should I do? Am I doing it right?

We adopted a female spayed bunny today as a friend for our male neutered bunny. They are currently in separate spaces. When I put them together very briefly, the first thing that happened was the male chasing her to mount her. She wasn't fond of this. There was a lot of thumping. I ended the session fast because I was concerned for her. She is actually still healing from her spay surgery. I assume it would be better if we waited a little longer for her to be more healed first? I was too helicopter mom during that... lol

Däñg it’s Fushia you shouldn’t have got rabbits if you can’t afford it. If you cannot give a rabbit proper care then don’t get one! When bonding a trio, it’s normal for the two already bonded rabbits to fight each other as they are trying to show their dominance to Tobias. It’s normal.

Personally, I think it's safest to get the bunny fixed once it reaches adulthood, and then wait a month so she/he can recover, then I would start the bonding process. But in the meantime you could switch up toys and literboxes and all so they can get used to each others scent

You can't really guarantee how long it will take to bond a rabbit. Mines took over a year to bond so I would actually spend the money and buy a cage. Also, you may want to be careful about setting up a cage in your original bunnies territory. Usually you should have a seperate room to bond them in and you should never have only one cage between the two bunnies. my bunnies used to fight through the cage which is why having two cages in a different room would be ideal

pls can someone answer me, im picking a bunny that is 8 weeks up next week, and im thinking isnt it easier if i pick another bunny the same day that is like 7-8 weeks too and let them ride together in the same "cage", and then be together when they see where they are going to live? or will it turn into a fight in the car cage?? and im also thinking about waiting until my bunny girl is about 4-5 month and then introucing a male bunny after she is fixed. and then eventuelly fix him too? witch is best?

Get one rabbit first get it fixed than adopt a male and let her pick him out so they have a better chance of getting along

@@thequeerbee2026 do you know how to see if a rabbit has broken something? like its spine or a leg shouldnt it be visible? like my bunny is jumping like normal, hops arround like normal, follows me arround, eating, drinking, stand on its back legs, etc, could it anyway has broken something?

The rabbit who is mounting will bite the others back. It doesn't hurt the rabbit. It's fine.

I would strongly consider getting them Spayed. Females have a 80% of developing uterine cancer by the age of 2 and the chance increases with age! Spaying them will increase their lifespans and ensure they have the best health. :)

Do you really have to get both bunnies fixed if the current one has been fixed and the new bunny isn’t old enough to be fixed?

is it okay that my female bunny who I’ve had for 1 year isn’t spayed? and we are getting a new female bunny bc my moms friend can’t keep it and we always wanted company for my 1 year old and I don’t think she is spayed either, so is that okay? Like I’ll go slow making them bond but is it dangerous if they both aren’t spayed?

When I first got my second rabbit I just put her right in her side of the run I had. She and my other rabbit immediately started fighting through the chicken wire barrier. My mom told me it was ok to let them fight, but it resulted in a nasty cut on my new rabbit's nose. For some reason after that they were fine with each other, and soon became best friends.

So, I’ve had my 2 rabbits for three years now. Both female and both lion heads. And they keep in bonding and unbonding. Recently I have put both of them in a different room and a different cage and one has gotten berry aggressive and territorial. This one has pretty much always be the aggressor. Do I still do this process or should I modify it because they already know each other?

My male is neutered but my female is not spayed. I worry she may be too old to risk the surgery? She's also a bit bigger than my boy even though they are the same breed. Are either of these factors going to cause too big of problems during bonding?
@leahmejia9141
@leahmejia9141 7 жыл бұрын
Slinky Kat It is possible that the bond might work but, it is best that your rabbit is spayed because problems will be involved that your unspayed rabbit will be territorial and aggressive towards your rabbit and it may cause injuries. I hope everything works well though :)

How old is she? i suggest talking to a vet about risk factors. How much bigger is she. if a rabbit is too big in comparison to the other this may result is worse injuries if they do get into a fight. With the information you have provided I would suggest you have her fixed. even if the bonding does go smoothly without having her fixed, the other side effects are not worth it. She may decide that she is ready for a litter and may become aggressive and start making a nest or she may get sick from cancer. Again, please consult an experience exotic animal vet.

My mom got me two bunnies and I'm trying to do my research and do what is best for them. I put them together in my room with close supervision and they were basically exploring and turning their backs on one another, and occasionally sniffing one another curiously. One was even binkying! They got pretty close and they were fine with the other sticking their face into their fur before they started chasing one another and I put them back in their respective cages. My parents aren't too keen on spending the money for getting them spayed. Do you think it's necessary for these two?

My rabbits who are three and two years old, no matter what or where I place them, the younger mounts, bites and plucks the older one. Neither are neutered or spayed, it is something I'm debating currently, as I've heard they may not survive the surgery. If anyone has any advice it would help a lot.

So, is mounting on a female a domination sign if your female rabbit is not spayed and is humping your foot? I have this happen with my rabbit and sometimes she nips me, but not always.

My 2 female Netherlands were spayed, the day after the spay one of them starting to chew the other rabbit's wound so we seperated them and had them in joining cages, just so she wouldn't try to open the wound of the other one. We'd have the out and about running around all fine but one day one rabbit jumped into the other rabbits cage and they had a fight. Since then we have had issues. We have essentially been re bonding them and for the past couple of weeks it has gone okay (the early days they kept having fights when out together)- just taking it slow now. But a few times one rabbit has jumped in the other's cage and a fight has happened again. There is part of me which is feeling like we are not going to be able to get them back to being friends that live together again.

What if they're outdoor bunnies? I've been having bonding sessions in the bathroom, I tried to move it to the run but it didn't work out so I've gone back to bonding sessions in the bathroom. I was wondering how I would move the sessions outside then be able to leave them at night to cement it? As I'm not going to sleep outside with them ha!

Hi there. I was wondering if you could help us. We have 3 rabbits, after they bonded they've been living together in relative peace for 2 years. However, a couple of days ago there was a brawl, possibly becauce on of the buns got sick and was weaker. We took it to the vet for 10 hrs. After the bun came back, everybody started to fight. The buns that fight most are towo females, the third bun is a male. All are spayed & neutered. The most aggressive bun, the white female, ferociously marks terrain and attacks the (sick?) female. They can fight tooth and nail, but usually the sick female wants to back off and just let go, but the white female is relentless. Should we bond the buns in pairs, or let all three bond at the same time? The problem is, when all three are out, the white female even attacks the male who used to be on top of the hierarchy and served as a police officer! Now it is only us who can act as the police, but we're worried that one of the buns might get seriously wounded:(

after each bonding session do you put the buns back in their respective pens or switch them those times? Then once the space is the "desired" size then do not put them back into their pens, do I need two separate litters or one bigger litter for them to share?

My female just does not want to stop biting, like every time they get close. He tries to run away she chases and keeps biting. It’s been about a weeks and she won’t even just smell him. He’s so sweet and tries to go up to her and smell her and whatnot but she just bites immediately. Not sure where to go from here besides more stress sessions
