Man, you saved my life. I was following Boss' instruction which says: “Copy (drag and drop) all the files included in the "katana3_sys_v106.zip" folder into the "KATANA3" icon” It's completely wrong and misleading without unzipping it first.

Many thanks. Great information! Noting that the Artist has 2 "tap" buttons. We need the "Effects tap" button, not the "Solo tab" button. It had me stumped for a while...

For the Boss Katana Artist, there are 2 tap buttons you have to hold down

Before updating your Artist, check if it is already on v1.06. Follow this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGXXn52vqrSAe6csi=Mz1kLFBu2IA-vbG5 If you need to update it, only the "tap" under the "fx/delay" knob is to be used.

Thanks a lot! It is a good explaination. I've got one little problem! My PC (win 10) does not recognise my katana 3gen. When I plug the usb cabel (following every singel step of the description) literally nothing happends. No pop up, no sound, no katana device! What can I try? Do you have any Idea? Thanks in advance. A few things to check: 1) Make sure your Windows has have the newest updates done; 2) Try another USB port if you computer as many; 3) Make sure you have a cable that does DATA. Some usb cables are designed only for charging/power; 4) Do you have all the admin rights on your computer? Make sure you are using it as an admin; 5) Look at the "File Explorer" if it doesn't pop up automatically, sometimes the Katana is showing there as a drive.

@@JBAubry Hey I just wanted to thank you. I bought a new cabel and it worked out! I'm happy! To play backing tracks via bt you have to connect to the katana sound device. This took me an other 10 min of research. But finally everthing works nicely. THanks and have a nice day

Hi I’m afraid I can not! Because I bought it like in the good old days. In a Shop. That means I went to the supermarket and I got a cable for about 13€. If you doubt your cable you could check it with a phone for instance. Check if it transfer data.

Few things to check: make sure you are using a "data" cable, if not, you won't have access to the Katana drive. Also, you can go in your "files finder" to check if your Katana appears as a USB drive folder. Keep me posted

The connector on the back of the Gen3 is a USB C, so you will need one end that matches the amp, it's a USB C male, and the other end will depend on what your computer/laptop has, some have USB C (same as in the back of the Katana) and other have a USB A (larger rectangular) port, which will require a USB A male. Is it flashing after your drop the files at around 1:55 in the video? If yes, make sure you drop only the 2 files as it is shown. Do not drop the zip file or the folder.

Anyone has an idea on a mac ? doesn't show a zip file to unzip and says to update driver ...download the driver and still at a standstill and did download for my operating system ?!?!

I am no Mac expert but will try to help you. In the video I show how to update the "amp's firmware", that's the built-in processing software. It's the same procedure on Mac and Windows. The ZIP files I show in STEP 1 of the video as no relation to MacOS or Windows. It is strictly to be copied to the amp as I show in all the step by step procedure. As for the "Driver" that will let you connect your Mac to the amp, go on the support page of the Boss page and find your Gen3 and get the drivers as per your Mac OS version. For Boss Tone Studio, the software that controls the amp parameters from your Mac, I have put a link in the video description, see STEP 9 for MacOS. Hope the above can help you out.

The problem is not the amp but more in the computer side. Make sure you have the "administrator" full credentials as some computer may block transfer with external drives to protect potential issues with virus. You can try the right click on the Katana drive and then select run as "admin".
