I live in Hawaii, our courses are starting to open up. Prior to all of this, I was suffering from back pain. I spent this time stretching and swinging a weighted club 100 swings a day. I feel so much better - really looking forward to just getting to a driving range to see how the swing is!

Love the video mates. I think the divot fill part was more than just a lesson on filling a divot, when Coach Lockey said something about caring about the mates coming behind you...that a very selfless thing to think about and if we all would have that attitude on and off the course, this world would be in a much better place. I've been trying to teach my kids that lesson for years, and will continue.

Less motion in the hips might be the answer to you chipping troubles Mark. I know I don't have the same background as you, but this is what helped me cure the chipping yips. Loving the content at the moment from you and Coach.

Absolutely love this video, I have to be honest, as a long time viewer I feel that the course VLOGS with yourself and Locky are so enjoyable to watch, I really look forward to your content everyday and this was a treat. I am a teacher and my wife is a critical nurse so this whole ordeal has been a little stressful on us, your vids have been something I have looked forward to every evening! We live in Chichester but I am a member at Littlehampton, a beautiful cheeky links course in West Sussex. If you boys ever a fancy a round let me know, I would thoroughly enjoy a game. Stay safe and positive, thank you both for your hard work.

Divot fill method "B" for me. I like to shake the dirt and sand out delicately, really "feeling" the pour, and allowing oxygen to penetrate the roots. Then a light-pressure smoothing with the scoop. If I'm eating sunflower seeds I may drop a couple on top to entice little birdies to stomp around the new soil while having a snack.

A is a better fill, although both are better than many. My lowest scire is 70 at Santa Anita Golf Course in Arcadia, CA. I shot a 68 in work tournament, but that was on a 5000+ yard course which doesn't count. At Santa Anita I got on from the wait list and played with a guy named Clay. I finally asked him about his voice because it sounded so familiar, but I didn't recognize him. He asked if I watched TV in the 1950s (which I did). He said I would figure it out which I did several days later. It was Clayton Moore - the "Lone Ranger!" He was bigger than I realized. He was about 6'1", but must have weighed 225 or more. He said he swam laps every day. He looked like a body builder. I still hit it 260-280 depending on weather and conditions and still shoot in the 70s. I need to practice and shoot my age (72).

71 on 7054 yard course , from the black Ts , I always play off the back t’s , strangely I didn’t hit all the fairways , but had some great recovery shots , I didn’t even realize I shot it until the caddy told me , I do remember I was just taking my time smacking around , not trying to go well, I haven’t been able to beat it again , and I’ve found the harder you try it just seems to go worse , I usually get around between 75-80 in about 2 1/2 hours , I find if yoU have people pushing you from behind or having to wait for people in front can ruin you rythem , I do find you’ll play your best if you play for your swing on a given day , be it fade or draws , and trying to fix on course never works out well .

The spin thing in relation to club/ball is super-interesting. The perception of blades/expensive(soft) ball whizzing it back is there, but is it really true? Is it more that many players using launcher-type irons and a cheaper ball may be simply swinging more slowly and perhaps not hitting down much/scooping their irons, so doesn’t spin much anyway, regardless of ball/club. And conversely, someone swinging faster and hitting down is going to get backspin with any type of ball and a lofted club.

Coach Lockey's divot looked like a lovely 1 big piece. Would picking that up piece of turf and replacing it back in the divot not be the best way to repair the ground? I'm not criticizing, just asking.

Hi Mark, not sure if the course your playing here is up to date with latest rules in line with the covid-19 virus. The courses I've looked at to play have all stated that flags should not be taken out and all green cups should be set at just below ground level. Why isn't this one? Good to see you out on the course again though.
