How to break Gothic 2 at level 0

Hi, all. Id like to make the part with the potion glitch more clear, so i got to work it right. So basically you do as Kacp says, you need to walk into water right before the swimming animation starts and open the inventory while being in water(swimming) after drinking the potion you need to eat something (do not close inventory while the whole process) in my case after i drank the potion there was an animation where the bottle was in my hand while in water, then i ate and the potion came back to inventory. THEN you need to go back to shore and start whole process again, remmember to save so if something (like in my case ) went wrong from the starting you wont waste your time . I did it near a beach where was right quite deep sea , this was more sucessful for me than the harbor .

Best is to beat up some npc so it has no weapon then sleep to heal the npc, then attack the npc and go to your inventory and spam the potion/plant you want to drink/eat infinity times. After a while make sure to heal yourself, enjoy ;)

@@gamecompilation4428 I know another way let some weak npc or monster hit you and drink the potion and as they hit you the animation never finishes and the potion left in your inventory that's what we used when we first get gothic in the early 2000's yes i'm that old that my friends and me get it when it came out :,D wel plus a few days since we lived in and around a small border town.

@@patrykrys3153 Not only poland even here in slovakia, or slavic countries in general, It is Big in russia too. Goes to say about quality of that game. How ahead of its time it was.I prefer Gothic 1 and 2 over Elder scrolls game for example. Elder scrolls just does not make sense when everything levels up with you that ruins your power progression and RPG spirit. I played theese games first time over 20 years ago, and yet i Still return to play them again. Very few games are like this.

@@LEK I never played in German so I can't comment on that. But it is the original so it gotta be good. I can only confirm Polish version is indeed fantastic, and it's one of the major reasons why Gothic became so popular here.

I didn't know that, what a glitch! In return, here is one that my friend found recently: In Gothic 1 you could take and throw things from your inventory, by pressing Action+Down. It removes an item from your inventory and physically places it in your hand. In Gothic 2 this feature was removed. But not completely. You can use it with stone tablets, because they are SPECIAL. If you don't have the skill to read a tablet, it gets removed from inventory, placed in hands to be read, and placed back into inventory by some script. BUT if you: 1. Place your cursor 1 square above your tablet 2. Hold Down key 3. When on item, hold Action (Ctrl key), unhold Down and hold it again With the right timing, magic happens. Hero pulls his tablet, tries to read it, fails, it goes back to inventory while it remains in hand. It gets DUPED. Both me and my friend used to get all our stats to 200+ and HP to 1000+. If you learn the timing than you can consistently dupe any stone tablet that you can't read yet. I don't know if it's known or not, I tried to google it and it failed. Hope you find it fun to dupe 400+ tablets like I did. Love your Gothic videos by the way! :*

Huh, I tried this just now and it only worked once out of nearly a hundred attempts (and that was while I was mashing buttons). So it works, but it doesn't work if I do it like you described? What timing do I need here? I tried to unhold immediately after Ctrl, as late as possible while the stone tablet is already in hand, and even unheld it for a little longer. Tried not keeping Ctrl pressed down, but nothing worked (except for that small miracle confirming it would work if I did it "just right"). A little more help please?

Hey, I actually got it to work way more easily than you described! It is surprisingly simple: 1. Hover over any stone tablet (that you can't read) 2. Tap Ctrl once (let go immediately) 3. Right when the Stone Tablet vanishes from your inventory or the number goes down (if you already have multiple) tap Ctrl once more (letting go immediately or not doesn't matter here) 4. Enjoy your duplicated stone tablet So there's no need to use the down arrow keys, etc. Here's some proof in form of a picture: imgur.com/TQoQNh9

@@N1ghthavvk It worked for my friend the same way, but for me it doesn't, which is weird since we use the same version with systempack, both on Win10 (that CAN make a difference in many things, somehow. One time in Gothic 1 I was able to run sideways midair). Glad both him and you skipped that pain. It correlates to the animation cycle, and there seems a couple of different frames when this works. IMO this topic requires some research, since, again, I haven't seen anyone talking about it (except this topic back from 2008, and there is nothing much anyway: forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/threads/386164-Notr-The-Stone-Tablets-BuG )

I feel like the only Gothic player who actually LIKES the English Dub. I like that the voice actors didn't try too hard and the delivery ends up sounding either fairly natural or over the top (in a funny way). But in any case, English or not, I'm just happy to see Gothic 2 alive and well.

Well yes, Gothic 2 has some decent voice acting here and there but sometimes it just feels bland and goofy. For example, in Xardases tower when the Hero and Xardas talk to eachother.

If you didn't had an dialog with the gurads that ended with them granting you entreance, the game thinks you got around the city walls and jumped into the water, making it the 5Th possible way to get into the city, and a very special reaction from Lares.

You can however climb the rocks and jump off safely near the barracks, but it doesn't feel like an intended path by the dev and doesn't involve swimming like Lares says.

If you wanna now an easier way to glitch up ur stats just simply search for a magical stoneplate who wish gives you attributes and left click spam it over and over again than kill until you've got a lvl up and head towrds to Myxier the watermage and learn the first old language ( beware! after you lerned the language you can't dublicate the old magic stoneplates anymore ). I mean if you need to glitch your stats up you could go MARVIN MODE right away. XD

I used an easier glitch. Find any potion or plant that increases stats permanently, save before getting aggro from one or two very weak enemies (young field raiders worked the best for me) and consume the potion as you are about to get hit. If an enemy hits you at the right time it will cancel the drinking or eating animation but still give you the benefits without using the item, save and do it as often as you want, just reload if you mistime and consume the item. With some practice and predictable enemies you can easily get this several times in a row to save some time.

Well... technically, the best armor you have at your disposal is the raven guards armor but everyone will attack you Maybe the pirate armor? I never wore it around NPC's so you might not get attacked and still get good defense

I agree, don't like the English dub, especially the hero's voice. English sounds too polite for the tone of the game. I'd suggest to go back to Polish or maybe try the original German localization. German VA in games is often really bad. PB was aware of this and used only talented VA whos voices matched the tone. You have to hear the german voice of the nameless Hero "Christian Wewerka" and the Voice of Xardas "Bodo Henkel", those are pure gold!

Cheats: Typing in a command for an easy win Glitches: Breaking the game within the bounds of a game With Glitches, you basically work for it but with cheats, you literally type in a command for it and to me, working towards it is more satisfying then just typing it in

I can only do the potion duplication bug once, I do it once and the potion comeback but when i try to re-do the whole process the potion doesn't comeback still useful gives you one extra strength pot
