Eye of Innos design flaw might also have to do with it's stats. You are told that it'll protect you from dragon's fire breath and it does in fact raise your defense, yet when you talk to a dragon and the fight starts - Eye of Innos has already lost it's protection boost, so it's useless for the fight itself

That is why when i mod game for myself, i edit the „unloaded eye if innos” to still give you that buff xD

The one thing that comes to mind when you said "bodysurf cheat" is after the "Marvin Mode" is activated, you can press 'O' to swap bodies with NPCs and 'K' to teleport ~10 meters away with your character. The shortcuts might be wrong but you can try them out for yourself to find the right ones. I remember once swapping bodies with Lord Hagen, took him to the fire dragon in the Valley of Mines, got him naked and swapped bodies to control the dragon - then what Lord Hagen did was to say smth like "Oh, shit" and then proceeded to fight me (the dragon). It was worth the trip hah.

Hey, no idea if it's covered in the iceberg series, but you should check out what's up with the the Chromanin quest in G1 ('The Stranger'). There are some old controversial posts roaming about on the forums regarding it. Some people were claiming that, by luck, playing the game in a very very specific way - like all the way neutral to all events happening in G1 - you would get another ending to that quest (won't spoil it). People searched the game scripts and didn't find such an ending, but there were still claims of its existence. You could check it out, there's a big rabbit hole and possible interesting content, and also curious what you would find. 😃

Chromanin will be covered but I think there is not really much to say that hasn't been said. I think that if there indeed would be a way to trigger some special event or different ending, people would've already found it.

Maybe "bodysurf cheat" refers to pressing "O" when in marvin mode and targeting an npc to take over control of their body? Usefull to get the to drop items, or to get them out of terrain the AI had gotten stuck on. Or to revive an NPC by taking over their dead body and using F8.

"bodysurf" sounds so abstract I would have never thought about such a banal thing as pressing O in marv mode.

Thx for another amazing vid! While bodysurf most probably relates to this marvin "O" thing, I think it is also possible it refers to a bug in which the hero shoots into the air after descending onto an inclined surface and pressing esc when his "surfing" animation activates. When done properly, you can see how the hero keeps going down despite the pause and the menu being turned on. After a few minutes when turning off the menu, the camera returns behind the hero's back and he is shot as from a catapult xD As for polish funfact for today, I bring ya an ancient artifact - water pearls! Do you want to became magnate? You have to find water pearls and bring them to Gomez! Wanna kill the Sleeper instead of only banishing him? You have to use Uriziel powered by energy from water pearls! You can also use them to recover poor Mud's mind! Basically, it is polish community's urban myth and a way to troll newcomers and those seeking help with the game. They can actually be found in the Chronicles of Myrtana mod, where there is a quest to retrieve them, which was entirely created as a tribute xD

@@vertigo7082 I posted some links, but yt deleted comment faster than Gomez becomes angry hearing we know Y'Berion. I meant the glitch from speedruns, in polish known just as "catapult", tho I remembered it kinda different than it is used now. It appears for example in Saradoc's speedruns, in the beggining, when he throws himself into orcish temple, but he strifes left instead of "surfing" but this is same mechanism. Iceberg's entry wouldn't be named cheat tho, so it probably refers more to this marvin hotkey.

Imagine how awesome it would have been if the water mages went to the "centre of destruction" , that being the remains of the sleeper temple. Then they investigate the demon world from the first game and bring Gothic 2 thematically closer to Gothic 1. Dragon fire breath go brrrrr tho.

I'm a big fan of the cut content and the Gothic Sequel. The themes are more in line with the dark fantasy that was build in G1.

Seems like every sequel they wanted to go more typical fantasy, g3 was generic fantasy, g2 was in between and G1 was it's own unique grimdark fantasty. Although G2 was still a great balance and setting, especially ch2 returning to the valley of mines ​@@vertigo7082

In Polish version of Gothic, Xardas and Saturas also have the same voice.

Here are two things that I have not seen in the iceberg screenshot, but maybe you could make use of these. 1. It is through cheats, but if you are in chapter 2 and spawn the letter from Garond, Lothar will realise dragons are real and apologizes to you. 2. The hero was locked in the prison colony, for lockpicking and stealing. In gothic 1 he starts already knowing how to pick locks, but in Gothic 2 he forgets this skill, thus making that the skill was known before being thrown in the barrier. Extra. I have seen some topics how does wine exist im G2 if there are no grapes. But Grapes exist im G1 and G3, this means that Grapes were brought in the colony through traders from Khorinis, but because trading with the mainland stopped because of the war, the Fire Mages at the Monastery used some reserves from the last trade, as there are only 2 weeks between G1 and G2. Extra 2. Pyrokhar will consider his test done just by delivering a blank rune. If somehow you find through other way a blank rune, the quest is done. And I am not sure if the magic golem can be killed with shrink monster, without the use of the hammer.

1. Yes it's interesting and it does implicate that they had other plans for Lothar pretty far into development since voice acting is typically done in the last stages. 2. I heard that before but I think it's just a gameplay oversight that made it into the game. I wouldn't read too much into it. 3. About the grapes: you may be right but it's been 30 days between G1 and G2. 4. Since I usually don't do mage playthroughs, is there actually another way to find a blank rune? And yes, the Golem can be killed with Shrink Monster.

Yeah I know I comment much (It's good for the algorithm ;)) but Urshak is probably the saddest plotttwist in the whole game additionally to xardas. Why did our orcish friend betray us. We need the Gothic Sequel finished and we need a lot more explanation from Xardas. Edit: Didn't you already establish that in the short story "Schläfers Bann" that the Hero is Innocent?

The Body Surf Cheat... isn't that the "O" command to take over NPC's Body? :) idk just an idea

Many people here think it is but it's name is a little bit unfortunate. Taking control of an NPC, I'd have never considered that "surfing".

Wait, you don't know the bodysurf cheat? In Marvin mode, if you fix an NPC or creature, as in, their name and health bar appears at the top, you can press I believe it was "O" and... take control of that entity. Your previous character is still there, titled "Ich." You can switch back at anytime, or switch to someone else. If you bring up their stats page, you can see their stats that way. If you get people angry while controlling someone else, the NPCs will still be angry at the player though. Do yourself a favor, in G1, spawn in an Ice Golem. Wait for him to freeze you and then equip the ice bolt spell. Then bodyhop into him and use the cast button. You're welcome. I don't wanna think about how many Winndendens were prevented by German kids living out their mass shooting fantasies in Gothic :P

ofc I know about it but I never considered this to be the "bodysurf" cheat. I thought it would be something like while you are dead pressing "k" so your body surfs on the ground but I wasn't sure about this. I will try the ice golem thing! Thanks mate

@@vertigo7082 That is what bodysurfing is as a concept - hopping from body to body like a flu (it's mainly used in the context of possession and other fantasy stuff.)

Dass der Held der Avatar von Adanos ist und nicht von Innos ist ja keine Theorie sondern klar. Die Wassermagier nennen ihn Bewahrer. Der Held MUSS der Avatar Adanos sein, wenn er ein Avatar ist sonst könnte man ja nicht gute und schlechte Sachen wählen (rein Gameplaytechnisch jetzt). Man könnte jetzt argumentieren, dass man als Feuermagier der Erwählte Innos ist, oder wenn man das 'Auge Innos' anlegt, aber Erwählt zu sein heißt ja nicht dass man dem Gott dient oder dessen Avatar ist. Ich meine wenn Adanos Avatar Beliars Streitkräfte vernichten will und ich damit meinen Einfluss retten kann erwähle ich den auch kurz damit der das Auge tragen kann. Um fair zu bleiben diese ganze Sache könnte auch falsch sein, wenn man Xardas Worte berücksichtigt: "Ich diene weder Innos noch Beliar", was suggerieren könnte, dass Xardas der Avatar von Adanos ist, weil er will ja auch die Götter von der Welt verbannen, was ja auch Adanos Wille ist. Zitat Vatras: "Und nie mehr sollt ihr mein Land betreten" Edit: Wegen Talamon naja da gibts nicht viel außer dass er Xardas Labor erforschen soll

Joa, die Sache mit dem Avatar Adanos, da muss man schon ein wenig zwischen den Zeilen lesen. Wenn man jetzt Gothic nicht so gut kennt oder es zum ersten mal spielt dann könnte man schon auf die Idee kommen, dass man der Avatar "des Guten" aka Innos ist. Die Sachlage wird aber schon verdeutlicht wenn man das große Ganze sieht.

Hey man. Well 200 Euros are quite a lot of money. A game nowadays costs between 60 and 70, that's 130 Euros for a Sleeper Mask made of plastic I presume (it is said it's made from high quality materials), a leather bracelet, a notebook made of leather and the soundtrack. That on its own is a bit thin. Throw in a high quality map of the Valley of Mines and a statuette (just a simple Scavenger/Molerat would already do it) and we can talk. We haven't seen any gameplay, we haven't had any new podcasts, life signs are rare and yet they release the FOMO on their loyal playerbase by limiting the CE to 7500 units. All in all that is a bad move in my opinion BUT we know that this is not decided by Alkimia, but by THQ. I think we should cut the devs some slack because the marketing is not in their hands.

​@@MegaLol2xd Why are you asking me? xD Watch some dub comparison, f.e. search for "Gothic I - Aktorzy dubbingowi, głosy i postacie", Xardas and Saturas are compared there atthe beginning and sound the same. It's most probably Xardas in the intro, but there is no sure. If Piranha gave instruction to localization companies like "intro is to be narrated by the guy who dubbs Vatras/Saturtas" we have no idea which one would be there, based on german, eng and polish dubbs xD
