Most of the people look at it through nostalgic lenses. Me too, actually. But somebody pointed out recently that the main character sounds like a narrator, and it occurred to me that it's not really top quality these days. Look it at it from a distance, you can tell it was the best they could pull off these days, so I appreciate it, actually. And then, the person who pointed it out isn't really someone who knows a lot about games, though, so they can't really appreciate it in the same way. Thinking about it, I take that back. It was the best they could pull off in the early 2000's. What more can you expect? My opinion now is that it is a good voiceover.

sebool112 Ye if you take the way the hero talks and compare the voice acting itself to what is good today it really isn't good. But the hero has by far the worst voice acting in this game so I can live with that. Even the hero has his moments where I could fall out of my chair from laughing. I like his sarcastic side alot. Also the way the hero generally speaks with npc has a touch that makes his lazy lines often very humoristic which is something I like about it. I dunno if i have a nostalgia lense on or rather how much it changes for me. but I don't think it's that much. I think it would be awesome if i didn't play the game yet and could experience especially gothic 2 all over again. I mean after my like 25th playthrough I must say I lose interest from time to time but I still think the game is that great that I can play it despite the fact that I know everything about it. Not because of nostalgia but because I like the game and if they ever get the brain and remake their first 2 masterpieces and make g3 a complete game they'd swim in money because what piranha bytes is prducing right now isn't good at all in my opinion. Gothic had handmade quests and the world was so well designed that you could also overlook the silly quests when you just ran around the island because they made sense in the story. even smaller quests and characters like fellan had a place and just gave u a feeling of a realistic world. I muss that completely in todays games.

@@SsethTzeentach Late to the party, but don't use bleach against mold. Use white vinegar mixed with baking soda in a spray bottle and it kills mold, prevents it from growing, and continues to kill off the mold roots as well. I used white vinegar baking soda mixture to kill mold in my basement over 2 years ago. It has yet to grow back. Bleach on the other-hand is unable to penetrate to get the roots of the mold.

Quick tip: Don't use the Dragon Snapper/Shadowbeast trick. The game doesn't calculate the max HP increase during level ups correctly while being transformed, meaning you'll end up with less HP than you should have.

Doesn't matter if you level your fighting skills with the xp you gain. With a bit of practice you won't get hit in 1v1 combat.

@@SHAX516 you can easily offset the hp lost by donating to daron and innos shrines, for a beginner it's going to make the ordinary fighting harder and you can clear out the map in chapter 1 by learning how the fighting system works and realizing you can kill anything 1v1 with a stick and lots of patience xD

@@foreignfat6009 there is no "chapter 1" in skyrim you can fight reasonably well with fists as a khajiit and to lesser extend argonian but no way you straight walk up high hrothgar after starting the game and killing the ice troll on legendary with just your fists you can totally prepare to be able to fight late game enemies very early on but we're not talking super prepped min-max but casual play

I always disagree when people that complain about the combat. To me, it's the most fluid and spontaneous system ever created. No stamina, no dodge roll, you have to time your strikes and analyse each enemy. I loved that you could lure monsters. Also using the environment and anything you pick up to your advantage. I feel like most people give up too easily. Although, I have played the game a ridiculous amount of times so I don't even have to think when I'm fighting. I suppose that's why I love it. Every fight feels real and exciting. Anyway thanks for reading.

Might someone already pointed out but there is a far faster way to earn money with smithing than that at 7:20. You take an iron rod and put it into the forge than quickly press space/number one so your character draws his sword. This way you will still have this iron rod and another one will appear in your inventory = unlimited money without beating up that poor bastard every second. :D There was another glitch that is useful. Your enemies always running at you in a straight line. So when you try to flee a situation while running just move your mouse slightly left and right continuously so they always miss you. Gothic 2 was also popular in Hungary. No wonder we always got along well with polish people through our history, this game requires a certain character. :D

@9:25 You can also just buy a scroll of telekinesis. You never actually need to cast it just equip it, and then you just spin around and see every object around you. It makes the game a lot easier than cheesing the object spawn mechanic does.

While forging a new sword, in the middle of the animation, take out the sword. Doubles the steel you have, and also gives you the sword without taking the steel. Much faster than betting up the poor guy.

What I love most in this game is, that the main char is an ambitious, greedy and deceitful asshole. He is essentially every rpg-gamer that either got bored with the game or just plays it "to win". And that's really the best part of the game. It's playable criticism on gamers, who don't take rpg's seriously.
