Luis Correa Jr what kind of glove do you have? The glove I’m currently using is the Wilson a700, it is meant for 2 in the pinky it’s a nice glove but it is really hard to break in, you might consider buying the Wilson a700 glove.
@petermead49926 жыл бұрын
I have a Wilson A2000 from 1981. It rested in a closet for years, 20+, and was virtually ruined. I purchased some Nokona Glove Conditioner, and within a week the glove was new. It is the best conditioner I have used on any glove. Never put two balls in a glove and drop it in a bucket of water overnight or steam it. That ruins the leather, and most of us want the glove to last many years. Before using the Nokona Conditioner, I used Renew skin conditioner because leather is skin. I also recommend that glove oil not be used. It soaks through the leather into the padding and makes the leather too soft. Since buying the Nokona Conditioner, I have purchased three Nokona gloves and like all three. I just love watching TV and tossing a ball in a glove. It used to drive my dad nut, but he's gone, and I'm 70, so I can do it all I want.

Nothing beats the A2000 1786 11.5". I've had mine since 2009 and it still serves me well. Now that my playing days are over and I've begun coaching my son in 11u, the chance to play catch with my son and others on the team keeps my love for baseball strong. Hoping to pass on my love for A2000s to my son.

Awesome tutorial! After 25 years of playing with the same mitt I got for my 7th birthday I decided that it's time to retire the old girl. From little league all the way through high school and into beer league softball she was a gamer. Anyways my point is I really had no idea how to approach breaking in a new glove until I watched this. Thanks for the help bro.

My main issue with new gloves used to be leather slipperyness. So I sandpapered the inside fingers and palm of the glove (not the web though) for 2 min, moisten a cloth and wipe it down and then oil it. Sometimes product/preservatives made the leather slick.

i have a wilson glove. it is a wilson A 2005 it is a jim "catfish hunter" glove. size about 11.5. i knew nothing about gloves when i bought it i just liked the glove. i did not know hunter was a pitcher even. i paid $100.00 for it many years ago. i am now 76. i just watched a professional ball player say the first thing you should do to it is spray it with shaving cream with lanolin. rub it in and than clean it offf. the lanolin gives the glove waterproofing qualities. i have used vaseline on the stock of my mauser rifle to give it a good waterproof surface. i think that vaseline is okay to use but only about 3 or 4 times a year. like you say just use the minimal amount when you put it on. he said not to use glove oil too much because it will make the glove heavy. thanks for the video. it was informative for the gloves they are producing today.

Man I'm not gonna lie during this video I had a wtf moment. Like what is going on here. Since a kid I was always told a floppy worn in glove was better! My glove got oiled before every season too. But my glove was nicely conditioned and soft but deff wouldn't just stay open like any of these but it wasn't forced closed it was just so soft, broke in and conditioned and I loved it! Not sure what I would do with a glove that is stiff and stays open like that.. I guess my grandfather was just one of them guys who liked their glove nice and floppy and well broken in so that's what I knew and why I grew to like mine the same. Just makes me rethink a lot of stuff. Great video tho man!

I have a question to all those who use flares. Shat is it exactly the point of doing the flare, like what advantage does'nt it give you over any other glove?
@sammyaugustine53835 жыл бұрын
Angel Pina some do it for looks and some do it because it makes the pocket bigger and easier to catch a ball
it does not make the pocket bigger.. an infielders glove should be straight pinkie, straight thumb... in between that should be be bent fingers enough to fit flat across the ground to allow the largest area to field a ground ball with your fingers to the ground and palm out.
