I just had a new 2024 50hp CT installed on my pontoon. I know it's not necessary but can you swap the 5/16 to 3/8 fuel connector from back of outboard without voiding my warranty?

A modification to the product like this would not void your factory warranty. However, if you were to experience a product failure and that failure happened because of a product modification, that failure would not be covered under warranty. We recommend working with your Mercury Marine dealer to ensure any changes made to the engine will not cause concerns in the future.

Yes. Below is the exact verbiage used in the operator's manual for your 200hp ProXS engine. 😊 - For the first two hours of operation, run the engine at varied throttle settings up to 4500 RPM or at three-quarter throttle, and at full throttle for approximately one minute every ten minutes. - For the next eight hours of operation, avoid continuous operation at full throttle for more than five minutes at a time.

So, this wasn’t specific enough about what to *do* in hours 2-10. Sure, no sustained WOT; but … what? 10 mins at 90%, then 3 mins at 10%, then 15 mins at 50%? That seems silly. Is it 10% of time at WOT, then back off to 75% of WOT for 50% of time, then 90% of WOT for 40% of time - all these calculated over 30 mins? C’mon, Merc - don’t just tell us vaguely what not to do. Give us a template or two.
