the first time, which oil do you recommend changing, synthetic or semi-synthetic, or regular oil thanks and keep up the good videos !!!
@davidklimmek31923 жыл бұрын
Use good 10w40 semi synthetic oil (viscosity or weight ur manual says!) for 1st oil change. Then run only full synthetic oil there after. That's my rule an served me well near 30yrs owning machines.

I bought a new Raptor 700 SE in 2016 & it got about 10 hours of ride time & then sat until now, 9.18.21. Should I change the oil before continuing the break in & if so what oil should be used?

Yes! Break in same for all machines basically . Run good motor oil semi synthetic 10w40 viscosity preferred & change every 10hrs MAX. 93 premium fuel always! Ur machine is great but older treat her well.

we've known for a while that Yamaha builds a reliable product. Still, that's not the ideal way to break in a machine.

Hey what happens if I don’t break it in?I got it today 3hrs on it and I was doing full throttle
@ATVonDemand10 ай бұрын
It can just significantly shorten your engine life.It's no big deal. It's not like it's going to necessarily blow up.Initially it's just how long does it go before the rebuild. Time will tell.
@crazycamerons60437 жыл бұрын
How quickly does the break in need to happen once a new ATV is first started/ picked up from dealer. Can it sit for 2 months with fuel stabilizer waiting for spring? Can the 10 hr break in be 45min-1hr a day for 10 days? I'm just not sure of the time line how quickly or how long it should take to break it in I'm in no hurry and we have snow right now thanks for your help
@ATVonDemand7 жыл бұрын
Crazy Camerons sorry we didn't get back to you on this sooner. There is no real time frame in which you have to break the engine in. You can take 6 months to break the engine in just follow the correct procedure over that amount of time or whenever you start riding the quad.

Hello. Could you please tell me the best gas/octane to use on a 2017 Yamaha raptor 700?? I live in New Jersey. Thank you very much.
@ATVonDemand8 жыл бұрын
Please double check your owners manual for the minimum recommended octane. We always recommend using premium pump gas at the very minimum, 91-94 octane, in ATVs even if the manual says lower octane is fine. The longer fuel sits in your ATVs gas tank, the more its octane level falls off. By starting with premium gas you will get a cleaner burn whether your gas is brand new, or a couple months old.

91-93 premium ALWAYS! 🏁 Race gas is good once in awhile but not necessary unless full on built race machine. Im from Wayne,NJ.
@davidklimmek31923 жыл бұрын
@@naterancegilmore6478 dont need that . ok once in awhile..unless you have full on built race machine! More important use good oil & change every 10hrs bud. I use Belray or Maxima 10w40. Auto parts store sells motorcycle oils too they ok.

Can't go wrong w/ either avail Yamaha sport performance ATVs...YFZ450R or mighty Raptor 700R. Get one while you can! Yamaha is only manufacturer that makes real sport ATVs. Kudos to Yamaha! Word is they can't build enough to meet demand.. so maybe Honda, Kawasaki or KTM will bring bk there sport ATV.

Will it hurt the machine if you go a little over 20 hours before your first oil change? I'm at 25 hours taking it to the yamaha dealer next week for the first time service.
@ATVonDemand8 жыл бұрын
It also depends on how hard you rode the machine. As a publication, we feel the break in time and throttle recommendations might be a little overboard, a little, but we would hope you haven't been ripping it hard since day one. We personally think waiting 20 hours is too long before changing your oil for the first time. ATVonDemand changed oil in our machines after the first 5 hours of break in, and then another time or two before the 20 hour mark. Perhaps we are a little OCD when it comes to keeping oil clean but we hate the idea of particles and impurities floating around in our engines. If you haven't been overly aggressive with the throttle you should be okay. We highly suggest changing your oil every two to three days of riding on most sport ATVs. Learn to change your oil yourself and do it more often than the manual recommends. You'll be glad you did and your dealers service center will miss you. Clean your filter after every ride if its dusty. Check it often and if it looks a little dirty clean it.
@johnnieldoctor8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was pretty easy on the throttle. I think I will be doing the service myself the dealer is going to charge me $750.00 for first time service.
