A chain breaker is one of the best tools I bought and you gotta make sure you break the chain in the right link

This is what I have learned about bike chains. Mathematically, if your chain is too loose even when your rear tire is all the way back in the slot, and the chain tensioner is as far up and to the right as it can possibly be, you need to remove some links. This is the formula I've come up with: The WTF? Formula: 1). Chain is too long; remove 1 outer and 1 inner chain link (which is the absolute MINIMUM you can remove). 2).Figure in the fact that you have some leeway in wheel placement in slots, and you can always lower your tensioner, then 3). You will now find your chain is too tight, even if you lower your tensioner all the way to the bottom and bring your tire so far forward it's in danger of falling off the frame. 4). Put the chains (the absolute MINIMUM amount) that you took off back on the chain. Put your tensioner all the way up and to the right, and bring the wheel all the way back. 5). Your chain will now be too loose once again. I hope this helps. I tried to approach this mathematically, and I found that frankly, this really makes no sense at all. 🤔 God, I hate chains! 😠 I don't understand at all why this is like this! 😤 WTF? 🤬

My cheap stock Chinesium 🇨🇳 chain broke yesterday.....So I ordered a RK Takasago brand 415H chain for $20, made in Japan 🇯🇵. It's looks like a good chain 🔗 for the price. It said 4000 lb tensile strength 🆚 many others for the same price listed as 3000 lb. The stock kit Chinesium chains are probably 900 lbs 😂. It's not a colorful plated chain but I'd rather have a strong chain than a weak pretty chain.

I see you are not a fan of the stock chain. The issue isn't the chain. It's the alignment. Rear sprocket is not running true or chain too loose. Those spring loaded tensioners allow a lot of slop too. A better chain can help but fitment or alignment is the main culprit. Good luck

@@HughesMotorized Sprocket is on nice & straight & everything alighned. It was fine for a couple years.......I 🤔 think it got stretched over time. Soon as I stopped paying attention to it. Became too loose for the spring loaded chain tensioner to handle.

@@michaelbrinks8089 I see. Yup. I'm not a fan of those spring loaded tensioners. Check out the vid on making your own arch tensioner. You don't have to have a welder but it helps.

@@HughesMotorized Got the RK chain today. You can easily tell it's much stronger & better quality for $20 but also a bit heavier (only $4 or $5 more than stock kit chain) Looks like a good chain for higher hp 52mm build.

Hello sir I have a 2 stroke bicycle engine but the stock exhaust is just pointed downwards and everytime i was on a stop and the engine is in idle the smoke sometimes goes upward to my me. Is there a way to use the stock exhaust while the end of it goes to the back of the bicycle?

Run 40:1 and it won't smoke

ran into another problem unfortunately! Started having this problem after I ran out of gas. The fuel line that connects the tank to the filter inlet would always form bubbles whenever I'm ridding the bike. Before that, that line would always stay full. Is there a way to bleed the air? Would the air pockets hurt the engine?
@HughesMotorized
@HughesMotorized Жыл бұрын
no worries. they all do that. you can undo gas line at carb and bleed out but float on carby opens up until bowl is filled w gas

@@HughesMotorized thank you! And also, what octane of gas do you use? I noticed that my plug is black. Would that be the cause of improper jetting or octane of gas is too high? I use a NGK BPMR7A
@HughesMotorized
@HughesMotorized Жыл бұрын
@@kennethjueves698 High octane helps avoid pinging. If you are running a high compression then it would help. Black plug can be from too much oil in fuel premix or your carby is jetted/tuned too rich. Slide needle determines the air/fuel from low rpms to 2/3 throttle. Main jet sets air/fuel mix 2/3 to full throttle. Look up some carb tuning vids and do a plug chop once you get 40:1 premix and a clean plug

Hey Hughes! I was hoping you can help me! I just bought an Electra Rockabilly Boogie 24” wheel bike and was hoping you can give some pointers for me! I was wondering if the 26” China kit would still work for this bike? If not, is there a way a can contact you through email and you can provide me some guidance?

You would need to get some different mounts for it as the opening is wider than a standard beach cruiser. Might just need a front mount and an offset intake to fit the carb on
