Awareness, by default. My #1 tip for beating a trap. I think people dribbling over half court need to be way more mindful of getting trapped. Dudes who get caught out often seem shocked that they got doubled. They should be thinking "are they going to double?" by default. Being pre-loaded to expect a double, takes much of the panic/freeze chance away.

Drizzie Dre ‘Cause he’s a better version of Trae Young. He can shoot AND play dope defense. Ice Trae can only perform at one end of the court (No offense to him) but he’s a young player.

1v1 don't rush, if you're skilled enough, keep changing directions side by side. 1v2 the best option is to call for help, but be patient with it because when you're so low down the court while being pressured, the defenders have more blind spots to work with. They just want you to throw a careless pass and it's over

Awareness should also be happening as soon as your opponents score. Inbounder should be quick to get the ball from the bottom of the net. Looking for a long bomb pass to any team mate leaking out. And be prepared to run along the baseline to get a better/safer pass to the Guard, as well. Then keeping spacing away from the dribbler, so they can easily pass the ball to you if they do get a full court press or doubled. A pass is faster than running :)

@By Any Means Basketball Quick Question: What do you think of the possibility of doing a spin seal, or some other type of spin, out of a trap. In 99% of these clips, I could see how these players could potentially spin or spin seal out of a trap. The only player I’ve ever seen beat entire full court presses with traps, and general traps/double teams consistently is Trae Jefferson. He would essentially just spin or spin seal out of them, and he was essentially unguardable. Of course, he isn’t really a big name anymore, but I still remember that game to this day where I watched him beat entire double teams and trap based team defenses over and over again like it was nothing. Do you think this is something players could work on? I know we don’t see it much in the NBA, but could that be because not many people practice it? What do you think? Thanks.

You can "post up" and spin move off one of the Defenders too. Get your body against them. Use your steps to give you team mates a chance to get open. +++ And if you're close to the sideline, remember you can throw the ball off their legs too :)

I know this is an older comment, but for the sake of anyone reading this...amateur opinion here, but when you got a guy who ritually chases you down for the block every time, they are primed to be faked out of their shoes - put the brake on and throw a little ball fake, and as they fly by, do a quick euro style step around them for the layup. I was a terrible ball handler as a forward, so got chased down easily on drives with someone on my hip, and this work an absurd amount of the time and takes minimal amount of footwork. When I use to do it, it wasn't even really a "euro" style step, just basically stopping, selling the ball fake, and layup. Just throwing it out there.

“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:3-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬ "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved.
