I love the cap ban nu’s, if placed outside the hatband they actually make the hat more comfortable on the forehead. I’ve started using bits of double sided tape because the regular adhesive can’t be removed, which might become necessary if the hat shrinks.

To me, (IMO), breaking the brim past the temples looks great from a side view, but too much like a sun hat from the front. Breaking it just a little at the front results in a great front view fold, but flat looking from the side. Some of my hats can break in between those two ‘extremes’ which an ok view from both front and side. No break is perfect…it’s either optimal front view, or optimal side view, or ok-acceptable (but not optimal) view for both front and side. I usually go with the latter option but it depends on the mood of the day. 🙃

All good info 👍. Will you be selling those cotton sweartbands? I could use one for my Stetson summer straw. Sometimes when I’m wearing it in the summer it’s hot out and I take my hat off. That band would help a lot. The new guitar is fabulous ‼️ I loved 🥰 seeing it close up. Reverend does a great job finishing their guitars. 👍☮️🌞🎸🚴♀️🎵🐾💙
@quadrogong11117 ай бұрын
I always have at least 2-3 on hand , I can always sell one of anyone needs it, they’re $6 online, I can stick one in an envelope I’d you need it. I don’t know what it is, but I’m really, really comfortable with that Reverend neck, the bass contour control is so addictive that I barely want to live without it now, every guitar should have one. The tone knob lowers the highs, so why not have something that lowers the lows?.. Joe Naylor is the best guitar designer,his pickups too.. this one has the second generation of the Reverend Revtron pickups, the chrome ones on my Flatrocs. My Flatrocs all have Revtrons in them. A couple of years ago they came out with the second generation of those pickups called the Retroblast, he changed the pickup cover on the Revtron, and it tightened up the bsss or low mids.. so Im excited to use the upgraded version of my favorite pickup,it’s like. Flatroc with a better tremolo system , better pickups and a different body shape. I feel like it’s a Flatroc but better.

great video kevin, as always of course. one of the things i wish is that more hat makers would offer 1/2 sizes because funny enough i think lots of us are between sizes and that inbetween size would in fact be a perfect fit (not accounting for a long oval) but, i think with that half size, you could getaway with not needing the long oval. example, i wear the Selention line in a 58, truth is, what would be perfect would be a 57.5 🤤because the 57 would be just a bit too small and you never wanna go too small. mind you, nothing that some hat sizing won't take care of. love the new 🎸baby boy!!!! 🤘👌

@@quadrogong1111 one of my favorites is the Ontario by Magill with a 2 3/4 in brim. It looks good up or down and provides plenty of shade compared to a 2.5”. Although I typically lean to 3” brims for sun shade, you sold me that Ontario and it was a nice addition.

1. Some of my Stratoliner crowns rise a little more than 4 1/2; (but not all the way up to 5); is that normal? 2. I would consider a KTG nostalgia in the future if you make them, like a slate gray whippet with a low crown, full 2 1/2 brim, either c or diamond crown … something like that…ok, I’ll wait and see what develops…
@quadrogong11117 ай бұрын
That’s about normal for a stratoliner, yes. We will definitely do something similar with a whippet type of hat, some kind of grey for sure..

Kevin do a video on Alan Ladd's 'This Gun For Hire' Raven hat, the colour, shaping, and what might be a good modern equivalent ! What about cutting a piece of plastic foil and putting it behind the sweat band to create a moisture proof barrier. Would this help? These pads you recommend are gonna destroy most leather sweatbands, because most are coated leather, with some kind of plastic film on it. Its done to sweat proof them and to avoid staining. Once you peel these off you're gonna rip this coating off. Looks and feels horrible. Ask me how I know. Actually, please dont.

Kevin: Do you recommend Cap-Ban-Nu strips for newsboys?
@quadrogong11117 ай бұрын
It works to tighten them, very well, that’s what you NEED to use, it’s the only thing that’s cotton and can go against by our skin without irritation, yes! It’s the only way to tighten up a cap,unless you want to take a needle and thread and make some gathers in the back.. But yes, it works well for size reduction but not so much for sweat protection because you can only get it against the back wall of the cap.
