This is the most useful bboying video I've ever seen. I've been trying to learn windmills for months and nearly have them but this video answers all the questions I had about what I'm doing wrong.

When I was in 3rd grade I recall being in gym class and we were all sitting waiting for class to start. And I was doing the I think what he referred to as "candlestick" position And then just started busting out windmills. I at the time had no idea what they were called and found them really easy. Just tried to do them (at 26) and can't recall the movements. Gonna get these back down.

okay hopefully im not too late for some advice :D I have been dancing for 4 years and needless to say i am finally considerably strong and this seems to have become a detriment to me. When I rotate and try to get back on my wrist my legs usually drop and I roll over (this seems to be because no matter how delicate i tend to be I still have enough power of rotation to throw me over! ). When i try to go on my forearms, i usualyl find that fromt he critiques of many of my friend gymnasts that my hips are high enough but for some reason I still drop before I cna finish my rotation. I tend to try and go on my forearms but because I have a tendency to protect my head( i tried hedamisll and the same thing happened) that I launch into the air and dont touch it until my opposite shoulder smashes into the ground. OR my swinging foot clips the ground hard (usually my toes). NOTE: I did have windmills (2) for a short time, and then i seemed ot have lost it! IDK what happened! I have suspected that it might be because I am oppening or popping too early, and i have seen results from trying to delay that. Maybe its because im moving my body halves as one unit and keeping my upper body in line with my lower body at all times and I should be leading with my shoulders and letting my legs catch up. Any advice is appreciated :D Id like to get some powermoves before i hit my 4th year of dancing :)

Hey I have a question, I am body building right now but at the same time I want to improve some of my breakdance moves. But I don't know how should I organize the time. Breakdance first or workout first?

kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3XTd4yDoMmplck Besides the obvious problem of my legs being bent and not apart, is there any other way to solve the problems of tapping toes and that brief stop before each round? Or will fixing my legs solve all of those problems?
@theBreakdancingNinja6 жыл бұрын
You need to practice legs wide and straight. It will be difficult to generate the momentum to continue the move at that speed unless the legs are wide. When you start the move and bring your bend your legs you will speed up but you wont sustain. Thats why when you stop you open your legs up a bit to do another one. Your shoulder roll is very smooth though so you arent far off from getting the move.
@cageman3016 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips mate! I'll try going slower and focus on the legs as per your instructions in the video
