This has changed my health in significant ways. I have more clarity of thought, my quality of sleep, my anxiety is greatly reduced. My digestive issues have disappeared (no more air in my digestive system). I found Mr. Nestor two years ago, and I began the process of 100% nose breathing in and out. I will be 73 years old very soon. All my labs came back normal, and my doctor said, wow you've improved your numbers! I didn't tell him my secret. I am teaching my grandchildren the benefits of breathing in and out through their nose. My nose had trouble at first, but it's worth the effort to struggle through. It helps to use a nose dilator and mouth taping at night. The exercises also are worth doing. It doesn't cost anything. I'm here to encourage you that it's worth it. At ANY age. ❤️

This is perfect and just what I was looking for. My 10yo son is a mouth breather and I wanted to find something to explain it to him. We watched the video together and he is now trying to breathe through his nose, specially to sleep. Thank you!

My congestion prevents me from being able to nasal breathe. Have a bad habit of picking my nose which is probably contributing to that. But going to try getting some OTC nasal sprays soon so I can hopefully clear out my sinuses a bit and try that Nadhi Shodhana breathing technique.

What's the argument in favour of exhaling through nose vs mouth?

What’s the argument for breathing out through your mouth? Why switch back and forth? Also, exhaling through nose seems to get rid of”deeper” air. Like breathing in through nose gets air deeper.

From personal experience, I do not recommend using the plastic thing that goes into the nose on a regular basis. It does help clear up nasal congestion, but if you keep using it, then the air you breathe in doesn’t get filtered and all the germs go down in your airway because it covers up the hairs in the nose that filter the air. I used one of those for a few days and my cold went from my upper airway to my lower airway. I got laryngitis and more congestion in the throat that lasted for weeks. I could not speak for weeks after that because the germs didn’t get filtered through the hairs of my nose like they should have. Also, the Netty pot is old-fashioned. They now have the bottles that you put a pre-measured saline packet in and add water to the line, warm, distilled water, shake it up to mix it and it’s easier to get it up the nose versus having to lean sideways or an awkward position while using the Netty pot.

Breathing exercises make me yawn
@VopraanАй бұрын
That's normal. I used to be doing advanced breathwork EVERYDAY at one point in my life. I yawned all the time. It's natural. I believe it's not only your bodies reaction to becoming relaxed, but also a way to clear your sinesus. Your nasal pathways. It's also normal to sneeze, burp or fart. Due to either the feeling of air going through your nose, accidently swallowing air, or because your abs flex as you breathe, causing gas to move through your body smoother. G'day. 🎉 Breathe on!

So then, what are the 40% of people who have "plumbing issue with their nose" supposed to do? It seems like you've just moved on from that statement without giving a solution.

Since I started taping my mouth at night, my chronic congestion in the nose got better. So it's not only if your nose is clear you can nasal breath, it also goes the other way around. If you breath through the nose, it will clear up.
