This is one of the BEST lovebird breeding video i found in KZbin!!!! My male humping the branch/stand and will sit on the first egg laid. Total 4 eggs are laid but all are infertile. this is their first clutch. how to teach the male to climb up the female?
@whirwick3 жыл бұрын
thanks mike! you can try to remove the perch and other things that the male likes to mate. it will encourage him to do it on the hen. but if the behavior stays, just give the hen another male. sometimes it will not go away no matter what you do. happy bird keeping!

I really appreciate your videos and your description and the details that you go into is very helpful. We have lovebirds for the first time. I'm in Utah and they laid an egg on the ground, but the hen is protecting the egg really close and the male is feeding her, your information for how we keep their health is very good. Thank you, can you tell us what to do when she leys her egg on the bottom of the cage and she still takes care of it, but I want to put the egg into the nest or box because we didnt have a nesting box when she laid. We Salute you 😀😀😀
@whirwick3 жыл бұрын
thank you liseth! did it hatched on the ground? lots of problem can accur like ants and cold temperature and the hen can be stressed out. i hope they already have a nest box now. they will feel secure with the box and it will feel natural to them. happy bird keeping!

This helped but I have a question it's been 20 days now can be more because they where laid when i checked them and my hen has now stopped sitting on the eggs I don't know what this means I need help.
@whirwick2 жыл бұрын
those eggs are infertile or dead in shell and probably will not hatch. try to candle them. you can use the flashlight of your phone. if the eggs are infertile, just take them out. she will lay again soon.
