You can also learn egg moves by deleting a move and dropping them off in the daycare with a Pokémon that knows the move

It's been awhile since I have bred in Gen 5, but I believe everything still applies except for the destiny knot trick - which only works Gen 6 onwards.

When you talked about how to check ivs in this video it sounded like you believe that it's the first time that they made it possible to check ivs by going to the pc but it isn't because in sun and moon there was a person you talk to after hatching 20 eggs near the battle tree on the last island that upgrades the pc to let you judge your pokemons ivs!

So I have a 6iv perfect ditto that I’m breeding with a 5 perfect Iv Eevee which’s special def is fantastic I have the ditto hold destiny knot and eevee hold the stone for my preferred nature but I have hatched so many eggs for so long and idk if I’ll ever get that last random Perfect IV

Given two 6 iv perfect parents, you're more likely than not to have gotten a 6 iv perfect child after about 25 eggs.

Are you using attack and sp.attack at once? The 6th stat is completely irrelevant unless they are mixed attackers.

Caught a wild ditto in underground got the special battle start animation and it had perfect hp, spA, and speed evs... Lucky i know and i was trying to catch togepi so i had a synchronize abra who was timid... I am wanting to breed staryu/starmie... Does this work like rotom??? If i breed with power items to get the missing stats on a staryu then breed the ditto and staryu with the other 2 stats... Is this my best chance of getting 5 best?? Edit: ability on a staryu egg will never pass down.. always a 50/50???

Awesome find on the ditto, super lucky! Starmie will work just like Rotom because it's a genderless pokemon. So yep the method you outlined is exactly what you want to do (always use your 3+ IV ditto or father at the end not the start). And yes the ability is always 50/50, but you can get the ability swapper item from the battle tower if you have enough BP. Good luck

Breeding with ditto sometimes just takes a long time to make eggs. Keep at it, they'll eventually breed

Nah you don't gotta do anything crazy. Your current ditto should breed with any eevee. If you talk to the daycare man he should say "they don't like each other much" which just means they will breed, but it takes a lot of steps before an egg is produced.

I was trying to breed a perfect feebas and when i used the power itens it wasnt working. When i gave any power iten to to father or the mother, the IV stat wasnt going to the son with 100% chance, why?

Are you planning on having more than 4 of the child's egg moves between the two parents? Most pokemon don't have enough egg moves for that to even be possible

Well most pokemon have maybe 5-10 egg moves, but many of those egg moves can't be learned by a set of two parents. For example Chatot has boomburst as an egg move, but the only pokemon Chatot can breed with that learns boomburst is Noivern. However boomburst is the only egg move of Chatot's that Noivern can learn. You could intentionally try to get two parents who combined know more than 4 egg moves of the child and see what happens... let me know!

I thought the same thing while breeding my Bagon and Misdreavus last weekend. They both have more than four possible egg moves… while Misdreavus’ egg moves are rather gimmicky, Bagon has solid options. My initial plan was an adamant/jolly with fire fang, outrage, dragon rush and dragon dance but now I’m wondering if I should run one as a mixed attacker… lol. I’ll have to experiment soon and find out what the egg move priority is I’m curious now. Played Pokémon since RBY as a kid but I’ve only recently started to take on breeding projects, helpful video!

Breeding basics (part 1) still applies. However, the everstone has only a 50%chance to pass down nature and destiny knot doesn't do anything in platinum (and there's no easy way to check IVs)
