the problem with adding stuff is if they start dying you dont know whats killing them, my channel is about the best conditions to get them to breed and remeber we are talking about bee shrimp in softwater with active soil not Neos.

No Neocaridina like waterchange once a 2 weeks
@MarksShrimpTanksАй бұрын
It doesnt actually, its different because the active soil in a softwater bee shrimp tank cleans the soil for the lifetime its active but in a Neocaridina tank with say just gravel that gravel is inert and doesnt purify the water the same way active soil can so yeah I would recomend people still do weekly water changes in neotanks 25% is enough.

I have blackbees in my tank. The tank is running for 2 1/2 years, at the beginning they bred like hell, but now i have bearly babys. It is a normal aquascape. What could be the reason for this?
@MarksShrimpTanks4 ай бұрын
Hello Yo, first thing I would check is the ph if its higher than 6.5 then that is your issue, the only real fix for this is a tank reset, if the ph is fine then maybe stop feeding for a while and make sure you have some leaves in the tank and see how you get on.
@Yo_Hahn4 ай бұрын
@@MarksShrimpTanks Ok thank you. My digital pH-Meter ran out of batterys, i did a chemical test and it showes 7,2 😬. I inject Co2 and the intern gauge is green, acording to this it should be 6,8. Stop feeding is a bit difficult, caus its a community tank (i dont know if this is the right english word for it). There are also 13 fishes inside. Im feeding very little, nearly nothing comes to the ground. Buteverything is the same as in the beginning, where theuy bred like hell. 🤷♀ Could it be bacterial contamination over the time? Its hard to suck out the dirt, caus there is a dense jungle of gras on the ground.

@@MarksShrimpTanks EC is around 400, but this didnd change also from the beginning.
@MarksShrimpTanks4 ай бұрын
yes I am afriad your soil is finished, when the ph goes above 7 softwater shrimp have a harder time breeding.

@@MarksShrimpTanks I did a chemical test again at the end of the day and it showes now 6,6. Is it a idea to put the caradinas in a seperat new tank and change them with neocaradinas. Are neocaradinas also so sensitive?

Great video! I wanna try the no water change method, but I don't use any ugf boxes. Does the no water change method work with only sponge filtered tanks too? Gonna buy me some Vin Blizzard food for sure. 30ml of Sera pH minus seams like alot for 300l rodi water. Wouldn't the pH go to about 3-4? Thanks!

@HappySpaceShrimps4 ай бұрын
@@olivier8761 Yes for sure 30ml Sera PH-minus on 300liter RO water. Then the ro is ph4.1 However, this is the only addition that leaves you with no dissolved substances and this measurement is worthless. You can only have a guaranteed measurement when the water comes together with the soil that is going to buffer. With the Ada Amazonia and prelowered osmosis i get a ph4.8 in the begin but after 1 year it is ph5.2 and is stay like that.

but if you don't change the water, doesn't the TDS increase? I know that TDS does not automatically mean an increase in GH, but does a high TDS not affect the caridina shrimp?
@MarksShrimpTanks4 ай бұрын
eventually the tds will climb yes but it doesnt seem to affect the shrimp in a bad way like you think.
@BlueWaterBreeze4 ай бұрын
@@MarksShrimpTanks I don't think it affects too much either, if it doesn't increase above a certain limit, that's what I'd like to know, from your experience, what is that limit? another aspect, what do we do with planaria? thicker substrate, at some point planaria will inevitably appear.... you can make a video to explain in more detail these aspects that have to do with this way of keeping shrimp, without water changes
