Great explanation and comparison of the three different methods. I’ll send this to my friends and family who want to learn the process!

Thanks for that feedback! No problem on sharing my brewing experiences. I’m just glad to hear people get some value out of these videos. Cheers!!

I enjoyed that, good watch. I'm currently re building my brewing space and upgrading to a herms from an old school cooler box so I found it quite informative on the benefits of herms

I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I’ve got a few other videos about my HERMs system that goes into a little more detail if you want to them out. It’s a great system. Good luck with your build, Cheers!

Very well put together, video! Thanks for all the insight. I use to brew AG in a 1/2bbl system I made, and it was fun, but eventually it was too much of a process. I sold the equipment, and a few years later started again, simple, back at extract. I never did BIAB, and feel like it's time to do so. This helped me make my decision!

Thank you for this feedback and I’m glad this video helped with a brewing decision:) A 1/2 barrel system is a pretty good size homebrewery! I think a BIAB system is a great, simple way to all grain brewing. As much as I wanted the Extract to be as good as the all grain recipe, this method just does not give you as much flexibility as all grain brewing, IMO. Have fun Brewing in a Bag:)

I also brewed that recipe on my spike trio system and it was killer

The spike trio looks like an awesome system! It is a pretty good recipe and I’m enjoying these brews, especially the all grain versions. I may brew another this year with a few tweaks here and there. Thanks for the comment, cheers!

How did the efficiency change for each process?
@justhomebrewАй бұрын
Great question. I hit all my numbers for the extract version. I think that was a given since I knew the gravity based on the pounds used for the batch size. Both my BIAB and HERMs systems were a little low. Surprisingly, they both came in at 1.053 OG. I don’t have the numbers in front of me, but I want to say it’s a low 60 percent efficiency for my brewhouse. I usually hit my HERMs numbers consistently. I’m not sure why the OG was a little low. My HERMs system is usually in the 70% range based on BeerSmith. Cheers!

@ Thanks. It makes sense. I got a new easy 3 in one type “(Claw) thingy. The efficiency has been in the upper 70’s. Not as much more than the original fly mash type. I saved about an hour from my brewday. It’s all good. I’m happy with my new RiIG. It’s So much easier now. Cheers 🍻

I do really like the all in ones too. I've got the Anvil Foundry, and it is great. I switch between the HERMS and the Foundry when brewing in my garage depending on what size batch of beer I'm brewing. The Clawhammer all-in-one looks like an awesome system. I really like how they designed their control panel. It's how I would build one.
