Thank you for the info! Headed to Nasau at the end of the month. Got all the paperwork squared away but was more interested in exactly where I can fly my DJI mini 4 pro? Will the resorts allow me to take off from the beach to grab some awesome aerial footage of the beach as well as the resort?

Hi Christine, there’s this question I the drone registration website asking the location (select island), it will only allow me to select one, so I put Staniel cay, but I will also visit paradise island, does that mean I need to submit a new application for the second island and pay the fee twice?

I also read some things about needing insurance and a 50% refundable deposit of your drones cost, mind you I have the mini 2. Have you come across this?

@@tinkywinky3680 I'm leaving for Eleuthera in 2 weeks. Heard the same thing about needing insurance and a deposit (50% of the drone value). What was your experience?

@@437conoy No deposit or insurance needed if it's for recreational use. I had no issues at all. Customs didn't even ask for the authorization letter. I got some great footage while I was there.

Hi I’m traveling within 2 weeks to the Bahamas.. did you actually have to take your drone out going through customs? Did you just show the paperwork and that’s all? I have a DJI MINI 3.

@@DronewithcL I went October 1st to Freeport and they did not inspect anything or even ask me if I had anything to declare.

@@Davy1Jones Same thing happen to me, With my letter at hand from the BCAA no one at the airport asked or checked my drone which I had in my backpack through customs. Pretty Sweet!

Effective January 15th, 2024, Civil Aviation Authority Bahamas will be implementing a drone permit fee in the amount of Thirty Dollars ($30.00) for recreational use by our international guests. (Has anyone tried getting a permit under the new procedure released above? Interested to hear. Tx)

Hi I did the first one register then in 24 hours they send me the second one for copy of passport and additional info but did you mail it to them or email the info to them, I ask them that but no response yet thanks

I got my drone authorization letter in less then 8 hours once I filled out the form on the CAAB web site.

I paid the fee $30 and got some crappy email jus showing that I paid not a letter of certification is that ok???

To get the permissions to fly in the bahamas it doesn't require you have insurance. generally insurance requirements are on the project front 🤘🏽
