I like that you explain the difference between using an electric one and using a manual toothbrush. great job! we know how important it is to keep the gums healthy

Katie theHygienist thanks Katie. what do you use?
@katiethehygienist7 жыл бұрын
I use the Sonicare I really love it it's so natural for me to tell people about it because I truly believe in how it work I switched to using it because my teeth are so darn sensitive and I just was desperate or something that wasn't harsh
@killerofbleach26 жыл бұрын
Katie theHygienist does it still work I have seen alots of review saying that the brush only have a maximum of 2 years life

What is the reason for using a circular motion instead of scrubbing?
@MadeInManny01613 жыл бұрын
@@jaydig2 I think scrubbing can ruin you gum line...its to harsh....although I've always scrubbed til I got an electric toothbrush .

Sounds strange, but I am now completely obsessed with keeping my teeth clean and a big part of that is from your videos! Crazy to think that most people don’t really know how to brush, floss etc after all these years and visits to the dentist. I just purchased both a waterpik and a sonicare 9700 electric toothbrush and both are game changers. Did this after I just went through a gum graft which wasn’t much fun, but was a bit of a wake up call to do a better job with my overall gum/oral health. Please keep producing great content!

It seems every dentist has a slightly different opinion on brushing manually. It's a bit frustrating cause the dentist I went said that the correct way is to brush gently from the gum to the teeth ,no circular motions should take place around the gums as it could lead to damage. but also others recommend small circular movement around where the plaque is forming ... I'm just not sure at this point
@fantasy93453 жыл бұрын
You probably already got some advice at this point but maybe use circular movement on your teeth but go back and forth on the gums?

My dentist told me to get rid of my sonicare toothbrush and get a cheaper oral B one because the rotating head was moving about more than simply vibrating about but I used to have an oral b and I FEEL cleaner with the sonicare one ive had over the past 12 months...please can you help me out of this connundrum!? :) also thankyou for the flossing video I cannot believe no-one showed me how to floss properly until I was 38 in the UK and via the internet!

Should we floss before or after brushing teeth?
@YourSmileClinic7 жыл бұрын
Maria Lkjhg either is fine as long as you are doing it :)
@sahrawee6 жыл бұрын
ideally it should before brushing because when you remove the plaque and food particles from between the teeth with a floss then when you use toothpaste with a brush, the toothpaste can work in between the teeth. If you don't floss before brushing then the toothpaste cannot penetrate well in between the teeth due to the presence of plaque and food particles.
@Bubble234286 жыл бұрын
sahrawee ya i do that all the time
@kimberlyguillen73242 жыл бұрын
I feel flossing is best before you brush your teeth to get out the food so the toothpaste can get between the teeth.

Do you recommend the Sonicare over the Oral B (rotary) brush? I have both and it's hard to keep the Oral B one clean, but I see the rotary cleaners at dental offices, so that's why I continue to use it. Would like to know your thoughts on which one is more effective, even if one is only slightly better. Thanks in advance!

Hi Dr Angela , I have a abscess at my gum ( I don't know call it periodontal or gingivitis ...) it often swollen then when I pressed on it I can drain the yellow pus out . But It that abscess will come back around 4 days later , then I had to press it to drain the pus out again . It has been recurrent on and off for years . I tried to use salt with warm water to rinse my mouth everyday + oregano oil , the abscess pocket got smaller , but I can't not cure it forever . Could you please give me any suggestion to cure it ? I heard that I need to do the root canal to cure it ? I don't want to do root canal or surgical . Is there any oil solution to clean it ? Thanks
@annanikolaev82293 жыл бұрын
for this one you need a root canal treatment as the source of bacteria causing pus is in the canal of the tooth in your case

@@annanikolaev8229 thank you very much for your information . I am in the U.S now , the dental service is very expensive here , I have medical , but I am not sure will they cover that root canal treatment ?

@@vinhdao7582 I am from Ukraine, here the root canal done under the microscope for the most precision is USD 300 - 500. Come to Kiev Ukraine when you can for dental treatment. I can recommend a high quality clinic with English speaking doctors

@@annanikolaev8229 hehehe.. thanks for your suggestion . However to go to Ukraine to do the root canal instead of just doing right here in the U.S , I don't really know is it worth to do it or not because of traveling fee from U.S - Ukraine and hotel fee , visa fee... :-)
