This configuration estimates 12 minutes for a 3 character combination, where each character can be one out of 95 possibilities (a-z, A-Z, 0-9 or special symbol). Add one more position, and the estimate climbs to 1140 minutes. 5 positions is 2.5 months, and 10 positions is 1594377388 years :) math always wins

Excellent video. The bottom line is that if the password is 12 or more characters it will take forever to crack the password by brute force with a garden variety PC no matter which program you use. I used HashCat to crack my own password but I had about 30 solid guesses to feed HashCat. It spit out the password in a few seconds. I found it much easier to set up and use HashCat than BTC Recovery.

At time 8:44 you do not need to copy that path from the File explorer just type in file explorer path. cmd Enter Voila you have the CMD open in that particular folder where were you in the beginning . .

Hi, yesterday my ledger account was accessed and 98% of my bitcoin was stolen it was transferred to 3 wallets which I can see still hold my bitcoin. Hashcat is faster than John the ripper...you can use more of the gpu processing power if you configure...but the best way is to rent a gpu cloud server on a pay as you go plan..that way you can use 4 or more high-end gpu for 11 to 20 dollars an hour all you do is install linux then hashcat then the drivers for the gpu and do the same thing you did with the file here just on the server...it would take seconds to crack that password if that...you could crack a 10 digit password very fast depending on how many gpu you use but you basically get the power of a 20 thousand dollar or more hash cracking rig for the price of a few bucks an hour that's definitely worth it if you are recovering btc given how much 1btc is worth...and with the cloud gpu server you can do it from any computer anywhere

The longer your wallet password is, the longer it will take to crack with hashcat. A 3 character password will be cracked very fast, but lets say you have an 18 character password with Upper and Lowercase letters, numbers and punctuation marks will take millions, easily billions of years. Your GPU's Hashrate also plays a massive role; a 3080 will have a MUCH higher hashrate than a 1050.
