One thing missing from the how to budget video is how to get a starting point for variable expenses. I printed 3 months of bank statements and wrote out everything I spent and categorized it. This helped me successfully start budgeting for the first time ever at 50.

I'm very new to your channel and I'm not sure I'm going to budget, but the explanation you gave while doing this was very well laid out and informative. Maybe after watching your August videos, and doing some groundwork during the month, I might feel like stepping out come September. We don't need to budget since my husband has a very good handle on our finances, but something you said really struck a cord. Being able, on any given day, to look into your planner and know where you stand financially was very powerful. Thank you very much 😍😍😍
