Hi Morries, This is one thing I've struggled with, it's the working out how big brickwork should look, thank you, this is going to be a great help... Many thanks... John...

i have an app on my phone called model scaler that i use when doing the measuring, i just measure the real thing then use the app to work out how big to make it in 1/24 scale

Sorry about the late reply, all my sizing is done to Australian standards, I just google brick sizes, door sizes or what ever I'm making then scale it down, I use an app called Model Scaler to work out size, I does the calculations for you..

Its a bugger living out in the mulga, we have to drive over an hour to get to our nearest SPOTLIGHT or decent HARDWARE store! always realise what I forgot to grab soon as we get home! lord knows where a DECENT HOBBY SHOP IS LOCATED?? doesn't seem any are out in the Wimmera??? E-BAY Postage is killing me! bloody near cheaper for me to get my supplies direct from America, bloody near faster as well and no damage, Aus post is an embarrassment usually damaged when I get it, really appreciate your LOW BUCK approaches and the great results you get! just wondering how do YOU strip paint off old models? am trialling the DETOL method as we speak! Any luck with that?

I use brake fluid to strip paint, works well, and just clean the fluid if with degreaser then soapy water.

I use a foam called Divinycell, it’s a bit hard to find as it’s mainly used in boat building etc. but you can also use normal foam board from craft/hobby shops, it is smooth with no texture, to get texture on it just dab your colours on with a sponge after you scribe the lines.
