Hey Morrie! I absolutely love your lowering and body drop videos for the Revell 32 Fords...have you given any more thought to describing the lowering and channeling you did on the Revell 29 roadster shown in that first video. OR doing same on the Revell 30 coupe? Hope all is well and that you're modeling away!

@@jasonmorris4795 I'll be interested to see what you come up with! I am using that kit as the basis of a long-term project that has to be pretty darn low. AND it has to have fenders...

About the type of paint that one uses is very important, Enamel is thick, do take longer to dry, and this is were people make the Mistake thinking it's dry, and it's not and this is where you get Fingerprints! My bad too!

I never use enamel to paint model bodies, yes as you mention it is too thick and never seams to dry properly.

the height of the tyre is the key, there are tyre calculators online i used, mine have a height of 721mm or 28 inch and rub a little if you don’t go any taller than that you should be ok

Yeah it’s lifted 2 inches, but it’s super easy and mega cheap, you just use Hilux 2 inch lift shackles off a similar year and wind up the front torsion bars to make it match the back.

Are the tyres legal (ie, commercial rated?)
@morrieskustoms6430
@morrieskustoms6430 Жыл бұрын
they are load rated at 102 which is 850kg per tyre, the gross weight of the van can only be 2800kgs, that includes carrying its max 1000kgs, they come standard with 104 load rated tyres which are only 899kg, They are tagged as LT225 tyres, the guy i bought the tyres from was more concerned about the rims, we called the manufacturer direct and they confirmed they are rated enough for my van.

I have built 8 Revell 5 window kits over the last 2 years and have done a lot of the same things you have done here as well. I also chop the tops too.When I have done the seats I do the same as you in regards to the bottom of the seat but when I do the top of the seat you will notice there is a line near the top that lines up with the side panels. I cut following that line to remove the top edge, then take the same amount as you took off the bottom of the seat off the lower part of the cutoff piece then glue the top back on. You will have to trim the edge a little to sit on side panels. Love the solution for dropping the rear. I will be building my 9th kit soon and will be using your technique for the rear end. 👍🇨🇦
