Hi, we grilled on our new Weber kettle grill and grill table today. It was fabulous. Andy really likes the cast iron grate. It heats up quickly, holds the heat. Gives the steak a good flavor. We also noticed less charcoal was needed. The height of the grill is a back saver and keeps you from constantly leaning over the grill. Many thanks!

Update: so we’ve had our Weber grill and table that Johnny built. Gotta say we have worked it hard and still absolutely love it. It’s like having a MOBILE outdoor kitchen. This morning we cooked breakfast. Eggs, bacon, bacon wrapped pork medallions, jalapeño sausage and boudin. It was amazing. Over the last few weeks we’ve tested ribeyes, hamburgers, chicken breasts, and brisket. The grill table makes it so much easier. We’ve also been experimenting with different lump charcoal recommendations from your channel. My husband and I are both foodies and are having a blast playing with our new toy. Many thanks again.

Posting another video of a smaller, totally different table in the next week or two. This is a great table and you can see how it is holding up in my recipe videos. Thank you so much for withing.
@DanLimbach5 жыл бұрын
Very nice! I am doing a double unit for my kamado and one of my 22" Weber kettles. For the casters, I would recommend using threaded inserts and hex bolts instead of 3" wood screws. This allows you to remove the casters and not mess up the threads when you replace the casters (if you ever need to). That Varathane Poly is for interior use only. You really want exterior Spar Urethane for outdoor items, as it provides UV protection and won't crack and peel like poly. If it gets a lot of sun, I would re-apply every year to keep it looking like new.
@Viewtoagrill5 жыл бұрын

Nice job bro!!! One thing to consider on your next build is on the grill side of the table maybe attaching a hook. On the lid attach an eye bolt so that when the lid is not in use you can hang the lid on the side of the table with it not touching the ground and being completely out of the way but close when needed. Just a suggestion. I did that on my table and I love it. But bro your videos look great and your content is awesome. GREAT JOB!

Beautiful table. I am actually building one very similar for my son but was going to use engineered deck boards for the surface. Not sure how they'll fare around the hole perimeter compared to a good hardwood because those types of deck boards have a lot of resin in them as a binder.

That is a great question.... I do it because in my mind it ads a layer of protection... I have no idea if it does or not... but, you can see in my grilling videos that my personal table still looks great... and my personal table is for a 26 inch kettle and is almost 3 years old... maybe it makes no difference at all... all I can do is point out the way my personal table is holding up. Take care Clark.

Hi, 1 question did you drill or rivet the L brackets? just building an outdoor bbq kitchen, love your video helpful for me to fit the weber into my worktops. thanks 👍 😊
@Viewtoagrill2 жыл бұрын
The L brackets fit under the rolled lip of the Weber. No drilling or riveting.

Hi! Awesome build! What size black L brackets did you use from home depot, 2 inch or 3 inch?
@Viewtoagrill3 жыл бұрын
I used the 2 inch brackets… but if you Albany it to set a little higher the 3 inch ones work also.

Nice project! By the way, how’s the wood holding up by heat of the grill?
@Viewtoagrill3 жыл бұрын
Hello Mike. The wood holds up well. I actually have a video where I take the Weber out and show you. Check out my Custom BBQ Accessories for my 26 inch Weber Kettle video.

Hey man that looks great. Question....do you actually drill into the weber kettle or does it just sit on the brackets?
@Viewtoagrill4 жыл бұрын
It just sits in the little gap. If you feel underneath the rolled steal you can feel a little gap... the corner brackets actually slide right in... no drilling necessary.

That’s a great looking table!! Do you have a materials list for the lumber, lengths ,and widths? You also had a for sale label. If it was for sale what price would you be looking for?
@Viewtoagrill4 жыл бұрын
I do not have a material list. I did show some measurements at the end of the video. Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoy my channel.

Enjoyed the video. It looks great. One suggestion please quit calling that a framing square. It is a t square or a sheetrock square. Aside from that it was a great video.

Hi Johnny, excellent video. I’ve been wanting to do the exact type of table but I’ve been scared to try 😬. But now I’m inspired! Couple of questions I’m hoping you can answer: I would like to use teak wood for the surface. Can I finish it as you show in your video? I want to add hooks and a towel bar on the sides. Would you prefer-drill those holes before putting the sealer and varnish and then attaching once it’s dry?
@Viewtoagrill3 жыл бұрын
Hello Frank. Yes you can finish teak wood as shown in the video.. using spar would be better for outdoor use. Drill the holes after every thing is sealed. If you check out my Custom BBQ accessories for the 26 inch Weber kettle... you can see how I finished the table... the table is different with hooks and a towel bar. When you are done with your table send me a picture and I will post on my KZbin community page.

@@Viewtoagrill hey Johnny, thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely check out your 26” video for more ideas. And thanks so much for replying! I didn’t expect to hear from you this year 😁. Very cool!

@@Viewtoagrill hi Johnny, just to clarify, I would first cost with the Thompson’s water sealer then followed by the spar coating?
@Viewtoagrill3 жыл бұрын
@@frankcampos1251 Frank, that is what I would do. Water seal, let it dry then spar. But technically since you are using spar, the water seal is not necessary. It just makes me feel better when I do it that way.

Thanks Shane. I appreciate that. Takes 5-6 hours to build... and then I will put 3 coats of poly on it... one coat a day over 3 days... I like to let it sit over night. Take care.

Those black l-clips are a great idea. Going to build a cart for this summer and have been toying with the idea of using some "oven gasket" (that woven fabric seal on your oven door) in that gap. The metal brackets are a way better idea.
@Viewtoagrill2 жыл бұрын
Hello Kevin. The L brackets create a space for air circulation which keeps the wood cool.
