Build a bench harness for your 99-2007 GM ECU
Download the APP LS Droid created by Pete Sontagg on your Android device (Reads and Writes the factory ECU)
Download the info from your phone to your PC and tune away using the free program Tuner Pro.
upload the file back onto your phone and Write it back onto the ECM.

Great explanation! I'm going to grab an ECM and cables from the yard and start playing with this. Need to enable efans in my the ECM of my 04 Suburban. I was wondering if a quality PC power supply would provide enough current and steady 12 V for this purpose but it sounds like that didn't work...

I'm surprised that this hasn't broken the internet. 🤯 An admin in a tuning group threatened to report and block people who solicit to circumvent HPT. Don't know if it was Mr Sontagg or not. Any elm327 Bluetooth adapter will work, or only the one featured? Btw, another great video. 🎯🏆

Download Tuner Pro on your PC. You can use XDF files from Gearhead EFI.com to set the parameters of your stock tune. You use your phone to read and write the tune. Thats it

So far the only thing easy I have found with Tuner Pro Is deleting the VATS.. everything else seems to be really complicated.. But hey it may just be me.

I think some wall adapters interfere with bluetooth signal. I'm not sure, but when I listening radio in my car and plug my phone charger or dash cam power adapter, it is make static on my radio (only when I'm 60 mile away from my city). With old type adapters with transformer inside shouldn't be interference.

I use a working old computer power supply to power them been using the same one for 10 years now

The battery works cause it’s dc not ac I’ve seen people power them harnesses with ac adapters try a dc output adapter 12v 1 amp or 1000 ma dc should work then

You need a wall adapter that can supply least 2 amps @ 12v.

"19+20 wire then together, they go to your battery", this confused me. If those are two separate wires going to two separate pins how would you "wire them together"? Make a splitter and send the one wire to the batt? Sry for the ignorance.

I have one unlocked (HP tuners) PCM in my horde. It's currently in a truck, but i'm considering benching it so I can just clone it on to all my PCMs. It's an extra step but if it saves $100 per PCM... it's a sore dick deal.

Hey Beeter, i couldnt get Ls droid to even register on either android device i tried and pete was talking down to me like im a child or idiot so do you have an expertise with Tunerpro? After failing with Lsdroid for about 6 hrs, i tried pcm hammer and it installed and read my pcm first try. Then, with Tunerpro i was able to modify my pcm and delete VATs and enable electric fans and save it first try BUT tunerpro gave me a warning errror right at time of saving, saying; Error, some checksum files may be missing noone on tunerpro, or ls1forum or Yt knows what to make of it or how to fix?

Late reply but if you're still looking you can use LsDroid to download the tune from your pcm then use TunerPro to disable VATS and then delete the dtc for the secondary o2 Sensors and remove them, then just simply upload the modified tune back onto the pcm Hope this helps (Ps. To be able to edit the tune you will need an XDF file for your pcm os)

Safer to do on the bench without other modules connected to the network that might interfere with communication due to this being aftermarket software

I've been trying to tune to tune my 2004 pontiac Grand Am GT any kind of free tunable software that I can find with no luck. I'm using VCX Nano in my endeavors if there's anyone out there that can help guide me in a way or do it for me I'd i'd be so happy. Someone must know someone on here to help. i'm not talking mapping or any kind of fuel ignition all I want is simple things like turn the temperature down when my radiator fans kick on. if I could do more that would be wonderful And as and at the current time PCM hammer was a hope but it failed because it's only for an LC1 engine. I also wanna know if it matters if the PCM is on a bench or if it's inside the car because I tried it in the car I haven't made a bench tuning apparatus yet. so if anyone out there can help me or point me in the right direction or Ask a friend I would be much appreciative thank you.

BeeterOlds Garage & Budget Builds Fixed Until Broken I went back and done some more stuff to my ecm. I now have fuel and ignition, it’s booming and popping however still not starting. I can now hear the fuel pump being commanding to run by the ecm for two seconds key on, then off then runs again when cranking. Seems like after about 7 months messing with this all I needed was to vent a little pre pubescent like discomfort on youtube. Finally feel like I’m getting somewhere
