Absolutely amazing man. I like that you showed a bit of the apprehension and difficulty. I actually think the video could use more of that. I really like hearing about the difficulties. Your time lapses make it look so easy, you move and shape with lots of confidence and clearly the product is outstanding. Really looking forward to the next part when you have to add the functional bits.

Nice ! I have an old TR1, XV1000 that is slowly-evolving (retro ) and a project TX650 cafe that is very-slowly getting-there . Tanks are often a dilemma for me over the years (custom-bikes ) I have often-wondered about building one . Dave NZ

You are really skilled and create amazing things with metal. Being an old biker I suppose the biggest issue in the end was how to get it to not leak fuel at the seams? Very well done sir!

Mate, seriously sick. Love the shape, what kind of filler cap are you going to do. For what its worth, I think it has to be kept low to keep those lines, almost concealed. Can't wait to see it come to life.

Groan! Everytime I inch forwards (seat pan, wiring) towards where you're at, you leap a country mile away. It doesn't help that when I asked the missus for a new machine for the garage, she got me a mower 😢 Brilliant video, thanks.

While your skillz are impressive, I've watched where they make these in India and they use press forms, rolling crease folders and welding them together on s skirt welder, (not sure what is is truly called but they weld both halves together and the press seams in a continuous weld. I'm sure your is far stronger with that frame reinforcement though
@CafeRacerGarage
@CafeRacerGarage Жыл бұрын
Thank you mate, The frame im using is only to help keep the shape to be even on both sides, the frame is not part of the construction, I could make a tank like the big factorys do but it would probably get very expensive
@MrAndrew1400
@MrAndrew1400 Жыл бұрын
Nice work Dan, did you consider making the tunnel higher to allow for electrical goodies under the tank?
@CafeRacerGarage
@CafeRacerGarage Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that was originally the plan, but I think I’m going to install a box and fully weld it up underneath perfect for a battery or other components
@johnDukemaster
@johnDukemaster Жыл бұрын
Why take the easy path when you can do it your way? 🙂 Just a thought...if one made a big block of wood in the desired shape. Could that be used in a process where the sheetmetal/aluminium is hammered into shape around it? What about making a tank in fibreglass? Very modern way back...come to think of all those with leaking tanks! Well, have to go. Time for a day in the saddle with the mates! Cheers!
@CafeRacerGarage
@CafeRacerGarage Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much mate yes it’s not the only way to make a tank but doing the timber buck and beating Metal over it is not as easy as it sounds. It can be done but requires probably heat for stretching.
