I used this set up for a beehive platform 30ft up tree. Great. Next I will add a mini one above to use as a hoist point to lower hive. Cheers

It's a long crawl back to the truck when that $16 stand fails on you. Store bought stands are inexpensive

in management areas you can't use nails or screws in the trees ! it can't be permanent either

I'm sorry but I hope no one follows that build... Nailed 2x4's , not treated, using plywood, barely any support....good luck

Been building stands for a loooong time and i only use 2×10 or 2×12 for the base , id never trust a 2×4 lol much less one that isn't preassure treated for the weather. I get it ur just showing us how u would do it. Im just throwing out in the comments so some stupid kidn doesn't kill themselves falling 30 ft out of a tall pine 🙃 in short Kids use atleast a 2×10 and buy some big spikes to nail the base dont trust your life or ability to walk on a 16 penny nail. Just my 2 cents

That is an awfully nice tree to be putting nails and spikes into. If someone did that on my property, there'd be hell to pay. Nails, screw-in steps, and spikes kill trees or greatly diminish their lumber value. Don't do it.
