Update: version 2 • Version 2: How to Buil...
We're making / showing you how to build a diy 3 in 1 crossfit plyometric jump box out of one sheet of plywood for your functional fitness. Save the $130 you'd give to Rogue, spend $30 on a sheet of plywood, and get some exercise while building your 3 in 1 plyo jump box. The dimensions we used for this build are 30" x 24" x 20". We purchased a nicer pine plywood for this project. Pause the video at the 0:12 second mark for the layout and dimensions.

Great video! For anyone living outside of the US the dimensions of the cuts are - 2 x 760mm x 610mm, 2 x 470mm x 610mm, 2 x 470mm x 730mm. This should give the correct cuts out of an 18mm 2440mm x 1220mm (3/4" 8' x 4' approx) sheet of plywood. Or it did for me anyway.

Really? I just immediately thought he would not mind his house burning down because he can't afford to pay the firefighters... Or shit, even better, what if he was really rich and the house next to him burned down because his neighbours were too poor. That way he could buy the land of them for super cheap because they bankrupt as hell yo! MURICA! Who cares if they are bankrupt because of a capitalistic healthcare system where they could no longer afford to foot the bill for their dying son. Now they bankrupt and childless! Depression will follow for sure, and with a little luck they suicide too and now their car will be supercheap at auction too! Man such an ideal world you want to live in. No taxation seems so fun! Imagine the roads, finally our 4x4 will have function, because it will be all dirt roads! WOOP WOOP! Taxation is theft is a dumb as slogan, 'the way taxes are used is theft' would be a better one but that shit requires Americans to read more than three words and possibly think about it, but to be honest.. I think 90% of them are unable to comprehend even the simplest of sentences.

came out perfect! (Almost...) $26 and an hour of work, boom. Done. I used 1/2 " plywood instead of 3/4" and had to make a couple additional cuts for the box to come together. I must have missed the part where you said to use 3/4". The final dimensions are slightly different too as a result 24"x 19.5" x 29.5". Still works great! Thanks for the video and instruction!

Just finished my plyo box. Great cutting diagram. Unfortunately cuts made at Home Depot were not very straight, but still worked out well enough and saved me from having to cut and transport a full sheet. I used trigger clamps to assemble the box and address issues with warped wood--very helpful. In reading the previous replies and concerns about the lack of support/reinforcement, I decided to add corner brackets inside the box on the 3 sides I designated as the sides to be used to jump on. I marked the sides that were not reinforced with a big "X" on the outside of the box so I know not to jump on those sides. Box is very heavy, but I might suggest constructing internal framing out of 2x4's or 2x2's to address the support issues. That would make this project more involved, but definitely would make the box solid for jumping. Thanks for the video. Loved that it only required one sheet of plywood (my sheet only cost $17.00).

For the novice DYIer, it helps to know the tricks of the trade. When you were putting on the end cap one corner stuck out, so you had to push the side out board out, creating a bow on the end cap, at that point you increased the speed of the video, making hard to tell exactly how you walked the pieces together to form a straight line. Just a bit of constructive criticism, mostly because that's where I would of trip up on during the build. So in the future regarding the little things like making something fit straight please take time and show us. Other than that, thank you, overall your video was very informative.

I went 5 inches down from the middle and measured 5 inches of length in the center. ( Had to do math 😩). When I got the two points, I used them for my center with my hole drill and used jigsaw for the rest. It's not perfect, but I like it. Handles are smooth and right where I need them. I wonder if rearranging your cuts so that the scrap pieces are in the middle would help make it more square. I assume the outer parts of the plywood are square and that every cut made with a skillsaw will put it more out of square.

Great video. The only part I am confused about is when you cut the 18.5" by 22.5" center support piece. On the video, you said you cut it at 18.5", but the scrap piece should already be 18.5" after all the cuts. Instead, the scrap piece should be cut at 22.5". Or did I miss something? Thanks

Is there a specific reason you made the top and bottom inset instead of the sides?

i have thought about adding grip tape to 3 of the sides but just haven't gotten around to it. It's only an issue when it rains and that's when i want the grip tape, but as soon as it's dry again i forget haha

The idea that someone thinks they can live in a society like this without paying taxes is insane. How do they expect roads to get built? Who will run the military and negotiate trade deals? This "taxes are theft" movement is pure stupidity.

Great job, man. Did you pre-drill holes for the screws, or just drive them? Please add the screw size to the notes too.

Super excited to make my own now! Thank you for the instructions. Just a heads up, Home Depot will NOT cut your wood down, the best they can do is rip a 4x8 in half, at least mine will not. But again, great video

Home Depot made the cuts for the one I built last night. They are supposed to charge $0.50 per cut for any cuts above two but they didn't charge me.
