Great video! I have made a dry Creek bed like this in my yard as well. I am torn because while I really want to cover it up with material and top soil, and grow grass on it, I don't want to lose the benefits of how much it slows down the water during heavy rains...

WHY does everybody completely full them with SMALL ROUND rocks??? Supposed to use large rocks on the sides to prevent erosion, leave it scooped out, but lot of rock of varying sizes that it has to get around, and make sure it meanders-I thought???

It's great but the cost ? We have a drain ditch ,,made of cement in back the houses & rocks going through the woods connecting to the other drain ditch connecting to all the buildings on our West side of town . Before connecting to all the miles of drain ditches it has a big pond about a city block big and 3 retaining ponds in the conservatory ((woods )) in back the house.We had two hvy rain floods 1990s and 2018 when the ponds couldn't hold the water ---- 12 inches in a few days plus the ground was all ready saturated. Now the water level is very high + were surrounded by lakes & there high . ((Madison WI . ,, We're starting to get the rain again but not flooding yet about 3 to 5 inches not bad yet .
