A bit of an odd installation. He could have gotten the same result with 1/2 the height of the lattice and would have saved a lot of money as well. And Definitely should have painted before installation.
@BaileyBuilt
@BaileyBuilt 3 жыл бұрын
Sure, you can do the half sheet if you are only attempting to lift the height. For this project, I also wanted to accomplish masking the fact that there were fence pickets that were different heights. I choose the full sheets because aesthetically it made it more appealing for it to be uniformed all the way down the fence.

@BaileyBuilt
@BaileyBuilt 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. The existing fence had fence panels of different heights. My design allowed for a uniform look all the way across the fence line of sight. I started on the left edge of my view from the living room and continued from there. As for overspray, I recommend the spray can because it did a good job of targeting the area where the paint coverage and distance.

Securing something that size to an existing fence post that’s definitely compromised by the look of the lean towards the end of the yard i imagine it wouldn’t be good idea. Is it still standing? I did like the look of the lattice overspray on the old fence and neighbours house though. Pretty sweet job
@BaileyBuilt
@BaileyBuilt 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes, it has held up nicely. The posts at the end of the original fence have a slightly different placement due to the flower bed. The fence has survived a number of strong storms and some fairly heavy winds. Good luck on your next project!

Overall I think you did a good job BUT I wouldn’t like you as a neighbor after spraying all that paint on my walls. I could see the overspray going beyond the fence. You could have painted the fence before installing it. Also, I may be wrong, but the screws seemed very long. If so, most likely they’re protruding out on your neighbors side.

What if I need like 4 feet of lattice above the fence line? How do I work the sizing in order for my flimsy fence not to be too top heavy during high wind? Thanks!

Thanks for watching. I wanted to reinforce the full frame mainly because there were a variety of different board heights on the fence. This gave it a clean look as well as a sturdy frame. Best of luck with your next project!

Step one. Do not paint it a dark color.

Why would you not paint lattice a dark color?
@adickurig
@adickurig Ай бұрын
@@notengospacebar It makes them almost see through negating the privacy effect. A lighter color will reflect more light at the viewer and obscure your vision.

I’m sure none of that over spray got on the neighbors window!

Thanks for watching. The spray cans I used to paint the fence have a very short throw distance. You will find that you won't have very much overspray. It's much different than using an HVLP sprayer. Hope this helps.

The height of the panels isn't even the same, it's off.. All the overspray from painting is going to your neighbors house, it will paint his windows/house.. Not cool. This should of been painted indoors.

Thanks for watching. For us, it was the answer to uneven fence panels that were there when we moved in. Plants have grown over the lettuce and it looks great. The neighbor loves it too! Good luck with your next project!

Oh my goodness. Bad relationship with neighbor eh. And you sprayed paint all over their side of that property line. Guess we know who the problem neighbor is.

Yeah not to mention how crap and poorly built the fence looks, could have painted the fence before putting it up. Either way, horrible video.
