Nice to see a realistic PC Build video. Just replaced my 3060 with a 4070 Super and had no idea about the new power connector. The MSI Card I bought recommends not to use the PCIE Splitter cable (came with my Corsair 650w)to the adapter. So I found a Corsair replacement that just has the one new connector straight to two PCIE power ports on the power supply.
@aylim308811 ай бұрын
@@disguiseddv8ant486 Mmm that's not really true, an 8-pin connector doesn't 'provide' 150W, it tells the card it can draw *up to* 150W from that 8-pin plug. You can plug a split 8-pin into two connectors on the card and the PSU will happily provide up to 300W through it. Whether you're comfortable with that is personal preference, but the 150W standard is way below the dangerous level for up to spec cables.

Built my first PC in 2019 following a tutorial from ol’ Austin. This is much more in-depth. Definitely follow along! Back then he said the case doesn’t matter, could be a cardboard box (Austin, in fact has built computers out of cardboard) but he puts more emphasis into it now. I agree! I cheaper put on the case and, though the system was fantastic, I had to stare at what looked like a disappointment on the outside. Get a case you like.

This is great, thanks! I'm looking to build my first gaming pc and that bundle & save deal would be perfect, but I'm in Canada. I wish we had a Micro Center.

Awesome job on the explanations of what things are and what they do. Great guide for first time builders. One thing I would say is if you do throw away your boxes, make sure to cut out and keep the serial numbers for warranty purposes. I have only had to RMA like 3 things in the past 20+ years but I was thankful that I had those serial numbers. Also, even though it can be a pain, register your stuff if possible. I have seen friends fight with an RMA because they didn't have a proof of purchase and the manufacturer used the date the item was made and not the purchase date. Again great video!

One thing for the standoffs, if you have something like an iFixIt kit, you can use the 5 mm socket to install/remove them.
