I can’t believe it’s 4 years already. I listen to your 2020 guide and built my first PC then fell down the rabbit hole of computers and now got a job as an IT Technician. So all I can say is Thank You for inspiring me. It’s kinda lame when I typed it out but I mean it.

@@Shadow_1695After building my PC I just kept learning things about computers and then decided I should try to get a job working with computers. I changed my major to IT because it was a new major they just started offering at my college. I got an internship at an IT department. They liked me and a position opened up they offered me the job. Hey Austin. A longgggggg time silent subscriber here. Prolly my very first comment here on your channel. Used to watch you 1080TI builds since 2015 -2016 (university days). Building a PC has been my 9 year dream. And I can finally be happy to say that I built my own PC (with 0 knowledge), yesterday with the same cabinet and liquid cooler. All I have to say are four words. THANK YOU SO MUCH. From Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India ❤

I can't tell you how many times I've watched ALL of your "pc build" videos. Also, this was probably the most relaxing build tutorial that I have ever seen. Without any detrimental bias towards any of your colleagues on the KZbin platform, Mr Austin Evans you are the best. Doesn’t hurt to be the most relatable one of them all. 😊

Nice to see a realistic PC Build video. Just replaced my 3060 with a 4070 Super and had no idea about the new power connector. The MSI Card I bought recommends not to use the PCIE Splitter cable (came with my Corsair 650w)to the adapter. So I found a Corsair replacement that just has the one new connector straight to two PCIE power ports on the power supply.
@aylim3088
@aylim3088 11 ай бұрын
@@disguiseddv8ant486 Mmm that's not really true, an 8-pin connector doesn't 'provide' 150W, it tells the card it can draw *up to* 150W from that 8-pin plug. You can plug a split 8-pin into two connectors on the card and the PSU will happily provide up to 300W through it. Whether you're comfortable with that is personal preference, but the 150W standard is way below the dangerous level for up to spec cables.

My two cents. The easiest way to find where everything on the motherboard is, is to just take a picture of it with your phone. You can always refer to it. Wear gloves and don't stand on a rug when assembling your PC. Great video, direct, right to the point, no BS. Thank You

Was looking to buy an already built PC but gonna just do it myself as it’s quite a lot cheaper, now im here Update ... i brought a mac mini 😂 tbf it plays the main game i want to play and just love it, putting a PC together is too much hassle at least for me, probably a good skill to have though so maybe one day

I was just looking up pc stuff and builds knowing nothing about pcs, and was scared to build it myself and was gunna pay someone to do it. But I think I’m confident to do it myself now. Thank you so much. Love the walk through

even though this will probably be lost to the void of the internet. I just want you to know that, Your videos taught me how to build PCs 9 years ago, i will forever be grateful for you and these videos. Thanks so much Austin for all the years of knowledge. You were the first person to teach me that i can teach myself.

36:26 Molex connector is not for floppy disk drives, you don't pinch to install, you pinch to help you remove it, not all of the molex connector have those "pinchy" ejectors.

Fantastic tutorial. Super clear, very little jargon, helpful tips about things unclear unless you have experience building PC's. I can't find fault in this video. Love your work, Austin and team. Please continue for a long long time. GG's.

Man, seriously, I cannot thank you enough for this tutorial. Today I have built in my very first PC at 32 years old. I’m an old school CS player and I wanted to get back into gaming and so forth. I’m a married man and a dad so this building time it has been amazing cause it has distracted me a bit haha. Otherwise, thank you for your help I just finished installing the drivers l. ( I had to do a Q FLASH PLUS) it worked and now I’m good to go. Thank you

This was extremely helpful when I built my new gaming pc for the first time. I only had a 5 year old pre-built laptop, but I thought it would be nice to try picking parts for myself. The only snag I hit was when installing Windows where it didn't want to install on any of the M2 drives I put in. I had to look elsewhere to format the drive to continue.

Built my first PC in 2019 following a tutorial from ol’ Austin. This is much more in-depth. Definitely follow along! Back then he said the case doesn’t matter, could be a cardboard box (Austin, in fact has built computers out of cardboard) but he puts more emphasis into it now. I agree! I cheaper put on the case and, though the system was fantastic, I had to stare at what looked like a disappointment on the outside. Get a case you like.

Awesome job on the explanations of what things are and what they do. Great guide for first time builders. One thing I would say is if you do throw away your boxes, make sure to cut out and keep the serial numbers for warranty purposes. I have only had to RMA like 3 things in the past 20+ years but I was thankful that I had those serial numbers. Also, even though it can be a pain, register your stuff if possible. I have seen friends fight with an RMA because they didn't have a proof of purchase and the manufacturer used the date the item was made and not the purchase date. Again great video!

One thing for the standoffs, if you have something like an iFixIt kit, you can use the 5 mm socket to install/remove them.
