@@TheCrafsManI make custom wrestling action figures. Sometimes you can heat to position as you wish then hit it with cold water to “set” it. Sometimes I’ll pin it down with a sewing needle or glue it if it’s close enough for both pieces. Love your videos and seeing the inventive ways you use techniques and products!

Bless you Crafman. This woke up a memory from round about 1971! My cousin and I spent time together building model cars and especially painting them. We thought we was wild. Now one day the adult modeling club was out in a little tent trying to show some youngsters how you could make your models more beautiful. They had a big pile of boxes on the ground and they looked real good. I asked the man about those boxes. He said his friend got those from a garage he cleaned out for somebody and all of those models incomplete. When I came back out the store I still had a little cash and I could get that whole stack for$$. Me and my cousin went crazy building any and also everything outta them boxes!

If there was an academy awards for KZbin I'd reward this creation with awards for best original score, best cinematography, best visual effects, best editing and best picture. This was an absolute delight Crafsman.

IF there was an awards system for youtube, KZbin would make sure that only bad people like jake/logan paul, xqc, mr beast, or that guy that goes around harassing people in public, get the award, not actual good creatures, like TheCrafsMan. But if it were up to us, then yes, he'd win! for sure!

Crafsman, this is one of the coolest builds I've seen you make. The pilot had me confused at first, but once I saw you making room for those big bulging eyes I was like "OH! He's going for a Rat Fink look!" It turned out so cool. And using the mustard like that was brilliant. I don't care if you put out a video every week or one every other month, I'll be here for them. They're all absolutely charming and super creative. Talk about movies or music or whatever you want. Your take on things, like Elizabeth Cotten's style of guitar playing for instance, is always inspiring.

Also, that mustard made me do a double take, I was sure it was a bit involving yellow paint, but nope, never heard of it as a mask before! Love the Ratfink inspiration, and the biggest fan of your scratch build content always! Really cool to see your personal visual style come through even when starting with prebuilt character's pieces.

I think you got it spot on yourself, CM - the ol' school videos were varied and informed and didn't need to be super long (though I'll always take a 20-minute-plus video). Maybe shop logs/behind-the-scenes/film and music chat could verge on the longer side? I swear, cutting so many montages to music is part of the thing that's adding so much time to your production, so returning to a more direct approach couldn't hurt.

Your local dollar tree with its high ceilings reminds me of the dollar tree my grandma would take me to when i was little- only if i was good, because going to dollar tree meant i could pick out a toy. She also had a big winter village and had tons of those winter miniatures you showed. And shed always make a fuss about not being able to show off her village to the whole family since we all lived far away. She passed very unexpectedly this past september, and i hate to sound too terribly emotional, but just those brief clips brought me back to nice memories. Your videos put a smile on my face and get my creative juices flowing! But i also want to say thank you for making me remember those things, no matter how unintentional 😊❤

In reference to video ideas, I've re-watched your 'a few of my favorite things' and 'DIY 35mm Adapter' videos a few times over the years, I really like coming back to them. Maybe you can look to those for inspiration. Godspeed, Crafsman. I just realized the reason I like those videos is because you talk about old technology and practices you did a long time ago. Before I was born, to be precise. That's cool to me.

Not every video has to be a classic that will be immortalized in song and verse for millennia to come. This is KZbin. They don't take their own platform all that seriously. Why should you? As to the content slowdown, consider breaking long videos like this into smaller chunks. This video could probably be transformed into three ten-minute videos with minimal padding. The process videos where you discuss the how and why of what you are doing are some of your best. You are an entertaining person, and your crafting insights are valuable. People aren't going to complain about an extra minute or two of your thoughts.

This was great Mr CrafsMan. Reminded me of 20 years ago I lived in a farm. One day I got an empty hydraulic bottle and drilled some holes in the bottom and stuck in two used spark plugs. A while ago, I think I remember you saying that you were tired of doing shorter videos and that you wanted to get more into kit bashing and longer productions. It shows you've done that. I was just going to let your video play in the background and listen to your happy flowstate voice ring throughout my makerspace... but I was enthralled. You just be you, Crafsman! Happy 2024 Crafsman. I love watching the scratchbuilding - I think it gives a unique insight into how you think and see things. What would I like in your 2024 videos? Maybe a project that everyone can follow along with - something that introduces new skills/processes and starts with an easy to source list of common things. Then see what we all come up with. It’s been years since the “You be Crafsman” contest - the sense of connection that existed when all the videos were uploaded, the mutual respect for the effort/results produced and the multitude of rewatches pretty much distilled for me what I love most about this channel. More of that would be awesome.

I would honestly love to see a gallery show of CrafsMan's best work. This, that amazing fire breathing worm, some of the other dioramas, and figures. This is every bit the definition of outsider art. Even constructing new with a possible theme just for something like that, perhaps hit galleries, art spaces, and like minded venues across the US with merch to feature at the show, perhaps even auction the display pieces once the touring exhibit concludes. Honestly, what CrafsMan does is art in every sense of the word. It just evokes this sense of childlike wonder and creativity that I think would be amazingly successful in that sort of space. Plus I would LOVE to see a bunch of the creations on display, up close and personal. Make it happen and get moderately wealthy at the same time. I honestly think it would do tremendously well if planned and put together correctly.
