very useful video. may I ask what did you do when you were not able to rent an apt.? did you stay at hotel or smt. I am asking since I am getting close to come to canada and these things are kinda worrying to me.

If you can't rent an apartment right away, consider staying in an airbnb, hotel, hostel, or shared housing temporarily. It'll give you a place to stay while you look for something more permanent 😊

Heya man, I had an AirBnB for 2 months when I landed. I also provided proof of savings but still got asked to give first months and last months rent including a deposit so it was a bit of a blow. There isn't much you can do about it as a newcomer I'm afraid. But best to be prepared for it.

@@stephentadgh Thanks for the info. In Cyprus in which I have studied, they ask for the entire year rent plus deposit right upfront. In comparison to here paying a couple of month of rent earlier is more reasonable. But to be honest I have two concerns when/if I land there finally. 1. getting the first job so I don't use all my savings and 2. finding a house I can effort!

Do I need to care about credit score if i'm just staying for a couple years for a working holiday? I don't plan on getting a car and i'm just gunna flat share with students / young people like myself
@Moving2Canadainfo8 ай бұрын
While you might not plan on major purchases like a car, a good credit score can still be beneficial for things like rent, getting a phone plan, etc. It’s worth considering maintaining a decent score, even if you're only staying for a short period :)

@@Moving2Canadainfo but doesn't getting a good credit score happen over a long period of time? seems a bit pointless if you're not planning to stay in Canada permanently

That's great to hear your credit is in good shape without a credit card! Everyone has a different approach that works best for them, and it sounds like you've found yours. Keep up the good money habits! 👍💰
