Nicely done! What is the width between anchors? I might have to build an XL version for my big guy hammocks.

Great design!! Do you offer DIY plans for sale for this hammock?

There is crucial information left out here about cutting the arcs, if done in the way suggested the first and last are going to be radically different.

Just get the first right, cut it, and use it as a template.

Thanks very much for the video. Would you mind sharing the width of each rounded cut....I guess 5.5" ? And how many 3/4" pieces do you glue together for each part?

I started building one and there is no way a sheet of plywood would be enough. Also the pieces look way longer in the video than what can be obtained from a 4x8.

Do you have any data to support your contradiction, because just adding up the fact those are 4' pieces cut on a curve with about 10" overlap, meaning there is at least 12' of length before we factor in the curve, you are wrong and your comment is ignorant.

It is a really nice design and using only 1 sheet is fantastic. I was wondering how well plywood holds up being outdoor. 👍 Thanks

Baltic birch plywood is quite literally one of the best if not the best outdoor (wood) material. This is not it of course, he uses a much simpler plywood BUT if done with baltic it can last more than a lifetime (and of course done correctly, for example he could do "seatings" on the legs and main frame, so they actually never move, because bolts tend to loosen by heavy usage)

@@spantsoputio8654 I also like Baltic birch because the core has no void and the top layer isn't that thin. But I have always used it for indoor. I thought the humidity would separate the layers sooner or later for any plywood

He's using varnish, I would use polyurethane. 3 coats sanding between coats. Also touch up coats every few years. It should last a long time.

Just watched this video for the second time. Unless I'm missing something the 24" dimension serves no purpose other than establishing the middle of the 4' width. There is also no mention of moving the radius point. Is the initial 66 1/2" the radius? If each piece is 3" wide then getting the pieces need (assuming 24) an 8' sheet should yield what you need.

I made a small version of this on paper and each piece can be roughly 3.8" wide and still get 24 out of one sheet of 4x8. My biggest issue is the length at the top once assembled, it will probably be around 9-10' which isn't enough for most hammocks to get the proper stretch need to make the hammock comfortable and avoid touching the bottom where it sags.

Yeah I also don't understand how the arc is staying the same as you move up three inches at a time, wouldn't it work just as well cutting the first arc piece as a template and then using that to cut the rest?
