This is very interesting. I am building my home office hifi system about the same way. I had a Schitt DAC for years, but I wanted more, and I wanted a streamer. I finally purchased the Eversolo DMP-A6, which was a major upgrade. I think this device is a complete sound system on its own. Combined with my Klipsch R-41PM powered Klisch speakers, it was awesome. But the best was when I added the Denafripds Iris 12th (prurchased from Vinshine) as a buffer between my computer and the DAC. The difference was not immediately perceptible, but it became obvious something was happening and the sound was was much crisper and natural. The difference is mostly felt by substraction. When removing the device from the Ichain I immediately heard that something was missing, that the music became duller. All in all, I have the Iris between my computer and the Eversoloe DAC, powering my Klisch speakers, and I am very satisfied with the results.

As someone who just got the Denafrips Ares 12-1 DAC I’m interested in how it has re defined my entire Head-Fi 🎧 experience.

A good software that I use for media player video/audio is Potplayer, than can use "wasapi" exclusive mode. So when you watch a movie you can stream directly the sound by the DAC.

I see some similarities, but as an IT professional in the 80’s in Europe / United States it was easier to spend a lot of cash and speakers for my office and as long as I outranked my neighbors, it would be just fine! 😂😂 At home right now, because I can only assume where this going, I run a special power supply, an Orangepi5 running jriver mediacenter to usb to the Iris, Ares 12th into a one of a kind tube pre, class D power amp, into my Audio Physics. I haven’t found a streamer/player yet that is easier and more adaptable than this yet, but I’m sure you’ll get to the point soon and correct me. 😂😂 Thank you
