Seriously this is probably the best one I have seen here. It looks well thought out and solid. Most people's campervans look too homemade but this looks like if it was meant to be by the manufacturer.

Thanks so much. I didn’t look too much at other build because I’m inspired by my own needs and habits. It’s a different, more designer oriented approach. Design comes from a function and I feel like more people misunderstand and design based on esthetics.

Such a good build! But only using reflectix and an airgap is not enough to be honest. Use denim, rockwool, hemp,.. and cover it with a damp screen and then cover with wood. This will also keep you warmer during colder times!

@@lacme4 Hi, I don't convert vans anymore. I only converted my own vans in the past. Prices vary, depending on your needs. The first thing is to draw a plan and layout everything on a floor to see how it will fit. The bed placing is the first item to try out. My last van conversion cost me A$ 3000.00 with me doing all the work. I will be making videos on how I did this for KZbin in the next few months.

Great job! Water tanks outside can easily freeze in winter. Soldering is a no-go in vehicles, use clamps instead.

@@ladiandmargaret because it might get loose over time due to vibration While it may be painful for some people to hear, the reality is that in the automotive industry this has long ago been settled. The gold standard is to (properly) crimp wires where possible. This is what industry does, and what you should do, too. Whether you’re splicing or attaching a terminal makes no difference. To verify this just take a look under the hood and you’ll find hundreds of crimps, but virtually no soldering. As long as you have the right tools, crimping is the way to go. Old Rolls Royce bodies were brush painted and then wet and dried until the paint was ready for final polishing. Nothing wrong with roller painting. Great job!

@@ladiandmargaret yes the practice continued into the latest 70s, apply up to 70 fine coats of paint over a long period. That is why the finish on old rolls royces is like looking in to a mirror. Great job on yours, I love the little innovations. Enjoy!

It had 300k km on clock. This one has 3l iveco engine. I read about it ahead and these engines easily do 700k with just oil change.

@@ladiandmargaret Yep, those 3l Iveco engines are legendary :) Body rust will eat it's way trough (easily replaceable panels, btw), but engines will go almost forever. If well maintained of course :)

Great build, I'd go light on weight, stick a 30 gallon barrel in the back corner for water, save all that weight, insulate sides and top and be done, it doesn't need covered, I'd never put another floor in it, spray insulation under the body, undercoat it and ride, I'm thinking I'd want a van weighing less after the build than when I bought it,

Excellent. There is a lot of good planning and forethought here. When I built my live-in van before traveling across the country (U.S.) for a couple of years, it was much more of an improvised experience, and I've suffered a lot by the poor planning. I don't plan on living in the next build for long stretches, but I do plan on much better planning and "fit-for-purpose" considerations. Great vid, great build.
