@@a-veteranlandscapesitework2413 Did you rent that attachment for the excavator? If so, where from? That looks like it makes it very smooth

Looking good. A tip to improve the straightness of your wall: run a string line every other course and use that to align the faces of the stone. If the string gets in your way, snap a chalk line on the lower course. Happy to see a drainage line behind the wall. Lot's of guys (clowns) out here think the wall will "weep" enough on its own, since the joints aren't mortared.

Do you need to install a drain pipe behind it?
@sccolbert10 ай бұрын
@@jarrettlott8185You should. The cost is so little that it doesnt make sense to rely on the wall’s ability to weep through the joints. All the commercial jobs I’ve done called for drain pipe.

How high can you go with these type of walls before you need extra engineering or permits?
@a-veteranlandscapesitework2413Ай бұрын
I've seen 25ft tall walls. Engineering required however.

Wow. Im surprised only 1 layer thick for a wall like that. Here we have to pretty much build them as thick as they are high. So bottom coarse would be 3 wide. Then 2 wide, then 1 wide.
@a-veteranlandscapesitework24137 ай бұрын
You should consult with a civil engineer on all walls. You seemed to have guess worked your wall loads.
@BramBiesiekierski7 ай бұрын
I dont build walls. I fix machines. But being around enough construction sites and never seen a retaining wall as high as that with only 1 width. Perhaps things are more relaxed where you are than they are here.
