Awesome! This is exactly what I want to do over my hot tub area. I pulled down the privacy fence because there is already one around the entire yard, and I left the cemented poles in. Now, I’d like a covered pergola with light and the ability to have shade too. Thank you!!!

at 4.12 I can see a bit of soft membrane hanging off... what did you use? was it just the stuff for keeping the doors insulated? My assumption thats to prevent it being noisy?

Yes, I have put plastic, when it is raining it doesnt make too much noise.

The F section and rubber you put on the 6x2 bolted to the wall, are these automatically included on the polycarbonate purchase? Or do I need to buy them separately? What do you call it, the rubber thingi?
@wildfalco6 жыл бұрын
You need buy separately. Just search `F Section PVC` they are about £6-£9 per 2.1m.

Hello there. Forgive my lack of knowledge in this area. Your joist hangers seems to be at a 90° angle. How do you get the beams to slant downwards ?
@wildfalco4 жыл бұрын
Good point. When you place the beams there will be a gap between hanger and the beam because of the angle difference (About 10 degrees) Dont worry about this gap it is not so much. Screws holding the beam and the hanger tight. It will carry the weight, Not a big problem.

Great video and very informative, looks like a cracking job, thanks for posting it! Am looking to build something similar and I had a few questions...it says you used 2 F sections, it looks like these went against the wall of the house and you sealed them to the house with silicone. I was a bit confused here as I thought that F sections were for the sides of the sheets. If you put them on the ends, would the bottom lip of the F section not push the panels up from the wall plate so they don't sit flush? Did you cut them off or something? Also, if you used the F sections against the house, do the panels still need sealing/finishing at the sides? Final question :), how did you secure the panels down to the rafters...or are the glazing bars enough to secure them? Thanks!
@wildfalco6 жыл бұрын
Yes I understand your concern about F sections. They do not flush to the wall there is gap about 10mm. I filled with silicon. You can use same trim to the sides too. Panels dont need to be sealed. F sections hold them properly. You need to nail the panels at the top if you dont panels can slide down with the weight of the snow etc. Make sure that you cover the nail heads with silicon. Just two nails are enough to hold the panel. I hope it helps. Take it easy.

@wildfalco4 жыл бұрын
@@bashirabdullazade6474 f section is used just on the timber by the wall, not 4 sides. You can place f section after you fix the wood on the wall. Due to 10 degrees angle you will have enough space to fit f section on the wood. You will fill the gap with white silicon at the end and it will be waterproof.
