I’m loving this series, and your excellently efficient style! I’m an automations engineer IRL, so it’s interesting to see your take on the subject through the medium of games. Here’s hoping there’s more to come in the future!

Sorry but his build is nowhere near efficient, it might be satisficing right now at best, but missing out a whole dimension is just bad design, especially when the game keeps reminding them that that third dimension is there everytime they misclick placing one thing on top of another, horizontal buses are only efficient in 2D games and building the bus that way will come back to haunt them.

This factory is designed to produce blue balls 💀

at the end we will have blue balls cuming out

Quite funny though. 😅

Now we just need a machine to drain the blue balls 😂 it's in the tech tree somewhere

I'm waiting for the game to release and I have been thinking. From what I have seen of the belts, a vertical bus could work wonders. It would allow access for any belts on any position, with as many next to each other as needed. it needs one line for the vertical belt stack and one for bringing up/down the input/output parallel to the bus. Can't wait to try that out. Great video by the way.

Gotta say, a lot of people playing this. But can't watch them, they're building inefficiently. Highlight of the day when your daily Techtonica drops!

Beautiful build! And I agree about the ratios, it's true it's not really important in an infinite resource environment. It was more important in Factorio because you couldn't waste your resources producing things that were not on the critical path to survival

Love the build - but it is in dire need of lime stone. Shipping it in via monorail from Victor while sending blue core the other way. Monorail seems to be bugged - the station in Lima got no charge (connected Lima and victor via cable) while victor had 600MJ. Only started to work after connecting Lima and Victor with flooring - need to test if I messed\missed something as I had three accumulators next to Lima station which added to the total MJ available but still showed zero in the station. Looking forward to your advanced circuit build

it's kind of funny to me that all of these different factory games, the megabase designs always seem to end up being "comblike" in structure, with a main bus acting as the backbone and a lot of little teeth jutting off to make the individual products. but the only reason you can even get away with this design is because items on belts in these games will just... wait their turn while the belt presumably harmlessly grinds underneath it. ITT it'd be interesting the see a factory game where you couldn't do this, where products on belts will pile up and create messes and jams, falling off the belts if not used immediately upon reaching the end of the belt. might spice up designs a bit.

I think you just came up with a core concept for your own factory game. A factory game where if items aren't taken off the belt fast enough the belt collides all the items together in a heap and creates a mess at the end of the belt. I would play that game. would force people to come up with another solution other than a big buss I think. Or maybe busses would become loops
@Spookzyo Жыл бұрын
Well that is not an issue as long as you know proper ratios, just build to ratio and nothing will ever pile up or be starved. Ergo, no belt mess even with colliding items on belts. But kind of hard without numeric values as of now. Most people want to build efficiently even here but the values are not implemented yet.

Oh no...after seeing this I'm so tempted to follow suit and make a similar megafactory haha, I'm currently at a similar point to the previous episode but with a few additional lines on the bus and an expanded mall

Hey Nilaus! I was a big fan of your videos for Factorio and here I find you again in Techtonica. So I must ask. I am very curious to know which factory automation game is your favorite? Please do let me know. I am new to Steam and factory games and always looking for a new awesome factory game. Peace!

Hello Nilaus, me and friends are really looking forward to this game while factorio expansion is still cooking... Is there any chance you'll ever cover Dwarf Fortress? Theres so much to automatise there but it's a hard game. You could share room macros for patreon members same way you did with blueprints in cap and satisfactory.

Interesting factory game, and I have 50 plus hours in it, but I don't see much in replayability. Unlike Factorio (4500 plus hours played) and to a lesser extent Satisfactory (1200 hours played) and Dyson Sphere Program (300 hours played), there are too many restraints and limitations in the game. The lack of space is a big downside. Also, the story itself restricts the player at every turn, leading the player to follow a very strict path to technologies, and reminds me of old fiirst person shooters where your character is in an open world but not, and they are restrained by the terrain. I know it's early access but this is what I see so far. Only my opinion of course.
