Nice build!!! I recently built a similar frame for my king size bed, I prefer using 1x4 slats side to side with a center runner and small posts to support the center since kings have 2 box springs. Just an fyi, poles are round, posts are vertical, beams are horizontal. I added a couple items to mine- on the headboard I put a wider 2x board to have a shelf and recessed some led under counter lights

Great video! Thanks for sharing :) Just wondering, what about the boards that go underneath the mattress?
@gagejohnson3 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked the video!..and I think I mentioned it in the video but I didn’t put any on my build since I was using a box spring under my mattress, but if I were only using a mattress I would put those boards across the bottom!

So with your method/technique, disassembly IS possible correct? Because I’m planning to build in a garage and then bring it home. I want to be sure I can get it home
@audreydawson19313 жыл бұрын
Also, about how long did this take you?
@gagejohnson3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I built this so that it could be taken apart and rebuilt!…the only thing I might’ve changed was that I kept the longer sections attached to the poles, but I think having the front and back sections would be a better option due to them being smaller and easier to move in a house! I’d say it took me a couple days!

Can you paint this wood or gloss it ?
@gagejohnson2 жыл бұрын
I stained it with a stain mixture that I referred to in the video and then sealed it with a satin polycrylic, but if you're asking CAN you then of course you can!

hello! what size pocket hole screws did you use?

@chanifarr89834 жыл бұрын
How much did it cost overall?
@gagejohnson4 жыл бұрын
I don’t know exactly how much but ballpark is $175 or so...and that’s with wood prices being at an all time high!

Hi! I’m trying to make this in a queen, but I can’t see anywhere in your comments what lengths you cut each of the boards to….

Hi!..if you look in the video description there should be a link to the medium article I wrote!..I believe I gave dimensions in that article!

Good effort. But pocket holes joinery won't provide it the strength which a bed needs....

i’m 15 and wanting to do this any advice?
@gagejohnson3 жыл бұрын
Super cool that you want to try it out!…and the best advice that I can think of is to probably not make the sides of it the put together section like I did if that makes sense..I would make the top and end the put together sections so it’s easier to move around in a house!
