Nice work. Three suggestions from the hundreds of feet of bookcase the center built over the years. Either start using an hvlp sprayer for your finish or use a brush on top coat like poly or brushing lacquer. You're wasting most of your product by using a rattle can. Also, for a tremendous amount of added strength, I always permanently attach the shelf that is 32" from the floor. It not only prevents the case from twisting, it also prevents the side walls from bowing. Lastly, I put 1 1/2" face frames on the front of the shelves to add strength and prevent sagging. You can use router bits to shape the face trim to make it look smaller than it really is. You've come a long way! Keep up the good work.

+Eric Lindberg to start out, just get a spray gun from Lowes or HD. Stay away from Harbor Freight. Eventually you'll probably want to upgrade but for about $75 you'll be in good shape for a while.

Nice book shelf but in my experience in building them you will need a band on the front of those shelves or they will sag from the weight of the stuff on them might need to revise them.

What a gorgeous piece of furniture. I notice you didn't wrap your iron in foil like I have seen in other videos. Does it make a difference in the application? Also in the beginning when you attach the edge pieces to the top and bottom is there a tool that helps you align the holes to to bottom to insert the dowels? I attempted something like this on my frankenshelf that was miscellaneous pieces (same colors) but it didn't line up right I didn't get the holes even. :/

It does thank you. the foil prevents the glue from the strips getting on the iron, but it didn't seem like you were having a problem. I did something similar but it was the side of a laminate counter top and the guy at home depot said to wrap the iron in foil. maybe he thought I'd later need to iron clothes LOL

Why is everything black or dark brown at the minute. all the projects are stained dark , it can look good but I don't like it as much as natural finish.
