I have an awkward walk in closet in my bedroom, that is pretty useless as it is, but on the other side of it is my kitchen and would work pretty good as a walk in pantry, would it be a bad idea to turn it into a pantry? My room has a lot of space to create a custom built in wardrobe for clothes, so clothes storage wouldn't be an issue

I love watching your videos. You have great tricks as you go along. I want to share one of mine with you: The way I hang wall cabinets, I run a 2x2 level across the wall where the bottom of the cabinet boxes will be. This is for the cabinet boxes to sit on one at a time. It holds the "weight" while I get the boxes mounted. Once mounted, I remove the 2x2, touch up the screw holes with a bit of dry wall mud. Wahla!

I installed about a dozen Barn doors this year. They're getting really popular. I set up 2 saw horses and I work out and pre drill all the holes in the board to install the bar. Then, after working out the height, I install the board, screwing it in the studs, and then I install the bar in the pre drilled holes. There are many kinds of kits, some are all pre drilled and some are not. One kit, the bar had 5 pieces, it would be hard to install straight to the wall, the 2 saw horses saved the day on that one. BTW, I pre drilled the holes smaller so they would hold....the board can hold the weight when it's fastened to the studs.

Tightening the acorn nuts and other decorative bolts: wrap the flat edges of the nut with a couple of wraps of painters tape to protect the finish from the teeth on the crescent wrench scratching the metal when you tighten the jaws down and turn. Especially when most gate, curtain rod and other colored metal hardware uses only a thin powder coating or even sprayed paint over steel which will scratch off when wrenched. If you don't have a socket that is deep enough or will fit over the shape of the nut to lock around the hex and an adjustable wrench is all you have to work with...
