they actually added the passive mode in update 7 but they just slight moved where it is at with update 8

Great video! I love the time lapse, it is what drew me to your channel. I do have a quick question though. You say in your video that you snap the foundation to the world grid, yet it appears your grid is rotated 45 degrees from the vanilla. Can you explain how you did this? I would love to use the same technique in my own builds.

OK so the short answer is, its not on the real global grid and there is no way, without mods, to reconnect it to the world grid. www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/qund5w/a_simple_explanation/ has a quick explaination of the math if you are curious. The long answer is, some of my building habits were developed before the world grid existed, and one of those uses a mod called grid ruler ( ficsit.app/mod/GridRuler ) that allows me to create an arbitrary world grid centered on any foundation. There are several factory locations in all 4 starting areas that are simply better aligned to the landscape on a 45 degree angle, so for years that is how I have established my custom global grid. I am not using that mod in my current playthrough yet, but I could activate it at any time to re-establish he grid as needed. I have found that a grid rotated 45 degrees aligns with the landscape much better than the NSEW global grid by default.

When i try to get the ieon mines facing the same direction, the one on the left is WAAAYY far forward, and i don't know why it won't line up with the other one
