I know Sobrenation came into being at a different time, but I am wondering if you have any advice on how to find a team, how to find the right developer, how to protect your idea, the stepping stones that you can take to bring visions from infancy to reality? I am wanting to create a directory website but also bring it into an app format. I am not tech savy and will need to reach out to developer services to get this venture going, however I am scared to share my idea with strangers while it is in it's infancy. Hell yeah, this totally addressed my concerns behind using a directory plugin. Just spent a month building my second directory (first is static and ranks great) and was unsure if I made a mistake going with the dynamic search pages. Any tips on making the static pages faster? Got 700+ city pages on my plate now 😅

Both. One of the downsides of directories is that you need to fill it before you can monetize it. No one wants to come to a party that no one goes too.

I'd love to know how you reach out to potential featured listings. Is this by phone? Email? Is there a certain script or appeal that you find to be most effective?

I've never had a good outreach program. Once you build it well enough, they will come to you.

Thanks. There's two ways to do it. If your directory only generates calls, then just put ctas in the blog posts that generate phone calls. If your directory sells featured listings, then you can feed those featured listings through the blog posts as well for extra exposure.
